hahahaha...1800mAH battery? That will last what, MAYBE 1/2 day with little use? Tell you what. If I see someone with one of these, I'll let them plug into my Huawei Mate2, with the 4000mAH battery and trickle charge your little tiny battery.

Galaxy Alpha is definitely not a great phone but it looks nice. However I think it's overpriced somewhat. Samsung should make it more affordable to customers. There is no point in trying to charge premium for this device. It's just not going to work.

Personally I find it impressive that Samsung managed to more than double the CPU performance of the Galaxy S3, and 4x the graphics using the same resolution and 20% less battery size. And it still gets 10hrs more on GSM Arenas battery test.

And by GSM Arenas test: The GS3 got only 43 hours. Did that device get people through a full day?

Don't bother, guys, samsung doesn't read your comments. Every time they are working on some new model, some old "all knowning" farts, from the marketing department, diciding whats best for the company, marketing strategy and sales volume.
They have their own vision "what consumer needs" and what is enough to compete with iPhone...

Samsung outdid themselves this time, this is the first phone ever to be awarded 11 out of 10 LOLROFLMAO. Totally ridiculous and tasteless. iPhone competitor, this?? No way. It looks every bit as cheap and low class as all Samsungs do and has all the useless bloat that all Samsungs have and bet your A it will be region locked.

Anonymous, 21 Aug 2014awesome camera, better than s5The phone is very interesting, and was wondering if it could replace my S5, but the 3 main reasons that are holding me back are the superior camera of the S5 (did you really compare both in GSMArena's compare tool before saying that?), lack of waterproofing and lack of microSD card slot (my 128GB microSD card is 3/4 full).

Samsung made this Alpha just to show people that they also can make one with metal.
and if the total sales of this metal phone went south of Galaxy S5,
they could yell "See? I told you, people prefer plastic phone over metal"

Anyway, so this phone weakness is... moreThe standby time suffers because it has a piss poor 28nm Intel solution for the LTE modem. Those who were thinking Intel's about to play rough with Qualcomm are sorely mistaken. Exactly why no matter what others do in terms of SoCs Qualcomm will have true 20nm LTE Gobi solutions with the 20nm SD810s that too on-die.

Anyway, so this phone weakness is really battery(2014 and 52h, come on, it's just not enough to last for a day) and also the screen(yeah, it's more that 300ppi and also this phone uses super amoled, but 312 ppi with pentile matrix is just so low, the pixel will really noticeable, just like galaxy s3, they should have used normal rgb)

Alpha is one of the best looking phones and everything the iPhone 6 4.7" should've been. I actually like the soft touch back like the Nexus 7 2013 as compared to metal.
