So basically 3 logical choices can be made off this guide:

1. Xperia Tablet X2 - for everything you may need.
2. NVIDIA shield - for gaming and then everything else.
3. Nexus 7 - well proven over the time of its existence, suitable for everything.

Honorable mention goes to iPad Air.

Best tablet devices and sizes for creativity and productivity are Surface Pro 3, Galaxy Note 12.2 and 3. I'd like to see a Galaxy S Note 8.4 with SAMOLED and pen.
