robertkoa, 16 Sep 2014I was surprised that the Speakerphone Test output was so low but I have found some comparison... morethe phone will not be released to start of October. im hoping GsmArena didn't get the final product. sony made a big deal on advert with the speakers , so I cant see them being rubbish. but it is still waterproof, you have to allow for bit of muffle
There's one disadvantage, essential one actually...
That's the volume level is just average, just like LG G2 otherwise great phone!
HTC is the standard to beat if you know their brilliant sound quality!
Mr_AL, 17 Sep 2014Still don't understand why non user replaceable battery still become one of disadvantages.Never mind them, they have to write something in cons, but reality is...this phone actually has NO disadvantages whatsoever.
Ok, maybe a dual sim option...
And would really like to see Sony add their App to Sd functionality to it (but, maybe it has it)
Woule really, really like gsma to update that info to the review
Still don't understand why non user replaceable battery still become one of disadvantages.
AnonD-63308, 16 Sep 2014Uhh can anyone confirm (with proof) that it's really stereo speakers at the front? It's not me... morelook at page 7
Uhh can anyone confirm (with proof) that it's really stereo speakers at the front? It's not mentioned anywhere on Sony's website, and the review only says the bottom one is the speaker and the top one is the earpiece. Only unofficial specs and articles say they're stereo speakers.
Nice specs :) good design, not like boring Samsung and HTC, even Lenova have better design than those brands!
About specs, to bad only 2GB of RAM, would be nice to have 3 GB, but considering lover resolution, it's kinda ok I guess.
As for many claims about non-replaceable battery, kinda strange, who needs this now when Power Banks are avaible? get yourself 10.000 mA power bank, and be happy, you will be able to charge phone 2-3 times with it, and there won't be any problems with opening water proof phone!
Looks to me like I have an anonymous fan!
Friend, my dear friend...you just keep talking while I keep providing linked evidence for my statements, on and on it goes...
You keep making rounds around me, instead of the subject that is argued...
better start providing contraevidence to my evidence...
Only trolls behave that way in arguments ;-)
I was surprised that the Speakerphone Test output was so low but I have found some comparisons on Youtube which are less accurate but still show a fairly high decibel level playing back Music on Z3 Compact which are more encouraging.
It is still not clear to me if this is the Final Software for the Camera on Z3 Compact-it supposedly has a wider Lens. I would like to see some Indoor Shots with average lighting and see the clarity available.
AnonD-209094, 16 Sep 2014You are the new type of fanboy, the type who pretend he is not a fanboy, yet you see a win in ... moreNah, not a sony fanboy...
Just a samsung hater...;-)
Whatever, just enjoy your alpha and your opinion on camera...
darkraver, 16 Sep 2014Aha...
I do not hide the fact that I DO NOT like Samsung...and am not at all ashamed to admit... moreYou are the new type of fanboy, the type who pretend he is not a fanboy, yet you see a win in everything for Sony, even when there is none.
I happily admit that i been most satisfied with my Xperia phones and not so much with my Samsungs but denying the superior camera of Galaxy Alpha goes beyond personal taste.
Deny it all you like but your opinions clearly show that you are a fanboy and a very biased one at that. For someone who admit to have his knowledge about Galaxy phones from Youtube you are so sure you got them all figured out huh?
This is hilarious. The Sammy fanboys running around hysterically, trying to find any vulnerability in the Z3c configuration to mount an attack. You can bash on about the battery, the UI, the photo and the video quality and whatever else, you are ridiculous. It hurts when your precious Sammy phone gets trashed by a ‘little compact’. Just superb, I love it.

You even sat on the z3 release page praising it for... moreAha...
I do not hide the fact that I DO NOT like Samsung...and am not at all ashamed to admit it, cause that company is shameless....especially in marketing. And would NEVER buy a samsung product. That is a fact.
Also a fact is that Sony now makes just better overall phones...
Z3 with its minor upgrades is still the best overall product out there...
And people like you just cant swallow it
So...you start that camera ranting, removable battery rant, etc... when in truth galaxies are just not overall better...camera with all its pluses and minuses is equal or slightly subpar quality overall as z2/z3...
Note4 will have s5 photo quality, and with ois maybe it s video won't be so dissapointing, maybe its night shots will be on par with xperias, maybe it wont, that is all..
Performance wise it will stagger and lag, as every samsung does, it is a touchwiz design fault
And yes...apart from metal frame it looks exactly the same as note3...
But All in all, if Sam made the most perfect phone, which it hasnt, I would not buy it, because I despise sammys lame and unmmoral agressive marketing....they are worse than apple ever was, and I will not support such a company in any way...
AnonD-307156, 15 Sep 2014lol
less noise? yes but no more detail and sharp images.
the who... moreReally. Did you hear about the release of the Lenovo Vibe Z2 pro? How about it's camera?
A 16mp sensor with OIS...of what brand? Samsung Isocell.
Showing much improved night shots.
And tell me how does that explain that from either so or even s2 and below Samsung made their own sensors and we're still ahead of sony. They in fact made most of the mile stones up til the 12mp and HD era.
And isocell did improve low light. But alone did not fix the whole issue.
Samsung needs to improve low light and they seem to finally be trying....
Where on earth does that make the sensor trash?
And supply was the culprit obviously.
i98, 15 Sep 2014"When is GSMArena going to stop listing a non-replaceable battery as a disadvantage?"... moreAt that rate they should just say that SD slots, bigger batters, brighter displays, better durability, better cameras are all meaningless.
Why should they stop? It is. You may not care and half of the jelly fans will pretend not to care. ..
It does not change the reality behind it, that many people do actually benefit from it, and that regardless of whether you as an individual wants it or not it is a right that should not be taken away for no reason.
darkraver, 15 Sep 2014Could not agree more, that much lasting non removable battery cannot be a dissadvantage of any... moreYou love to twist everything don't you?
You even sat on the z3 release page praising it for having so many new updates and improvements when it's just a minor bump..some good ones, but a minor bump....
Then waddled over to the note 4 page with some much more serious upgrades and improvements to claim that it was meaningless and had no changes. Was the same as the note 3. And that it was Samsung and was therfore bad.
Then ranted how superior Sony was.
...yet you complain that others are supposedly the fans and that they are bothering you.

It's an embarrassment to be able to replace a faulty battery on your own in a few simple seconds and inexpensively without having to void warranty or send your phone away?
Anonymous, 15 Sep 2014I think Sony's phones are the best out there (and this is one truly amazing), but your commen... moreYou might have a nice approach with the slide out battery, but that definitely does not go with the Omni Balance design that Sony has been using lately...
The only 2 Sony phones that are both Waterproof and battery accessible are the Xperia V and the Xperia ZR... All other Xperias diverge from this design and I actually like it...
I used to think that removable batteries were a must, but its been a long time since I actually got a spare battery, so I rather have a bigger, longer lasting battery (ala Z3 Compact, 101 hrs Endurance Test) + an external battery pack that can be use with other devices, than having a removable battery that I will never take advantage of, and any battery I get will only work with that specific device...
