Hi guys I bought redmi mobile and I am loving it , I got one problem with it is I am unable to use its WiFi direct function , so can anyone help me about it.
Redmi 1S is a downgrade from Redmi 1 in some area despite the better processor.
One, the MIUI is a memory hog on the Redmi 1S. Less than 400MB of available memory when the phone is freshly booted, and then the available memory drops fast as you use the phone. Soon your apps, services and keyboard will be force closed, sometimes even when you are in the middle of using the app/service/keyboard.
Two, the phone gets hot very fast. When the phone gets hot, the battery drains quick.

Xiaomi is a multifunctional phone...i use it to iron my clothes ..lol :)
Is it worth buying Xiaomi Redmi 1S??
Does it hang while working?
Please suggest the truth!
AnonD-180792, 22 Sep 2014Hi How to disable those app that you mentioned pls explain there's now disable options Thankssecurity-top right settings button-go into all functional modules and turn off everything, mainly the antivirus.
Tapas, 22 Sep 2014It might be worthy for many but i don't like it. Design is not cool, nor the ui. Moreover it's... moreAre u seriously that dumb? No of cores doesn't matter? Of course they do. At least in this case, it's a snapdragon 400. Phones with that specs cost more than double of what xiaomi is selling it for. And it has lpddr3 ram and eMmc flash storage. That's pretty high end for a device that costs 100 $. MOST PHONES DON'T HAVE THAT.
Don't buy this garbage! Don't be fooled by the price. Yes the hardware is decent but that is it. The software is HORRIBLE!! Only 250 MB free ram at boot is a JOKE!! You cannot run more than two apps at once it automatically force closes every app. Don't believe anyone the software running this phone is garbage! v36,37,41 all official ROMs are CRAP!! Call dropouts & what not! There is no kernel source code available yet either from Xiamoi. No proper AOSP Android. No hardware acceleration. This phone is friggin useless! It will be the worst mistake you do if you buy this. Get a Moto G it maybe double in price at least that friggin WORKS!!
I love the fact you review this device, but I hate the fact you don't consider the *real* price of it.
To buy a Xiaomi phone, you have to buy it from someone else who bought it in China and is ready to send it to you via EMS/DHL/other mail. Xiaomi doesn't sell worldwide, only in China and India. After paying all the necessary payments, Xiaomi phones gain no less than $50 in price, typically $70 and up, depending on the seller and device. So no, it won't cost you 100 euro, more like 150 euro or more.
Tapas, 22 Sep 2014It might be worthy for many but i don't like it. Design is not cool, nor the ui. Moreover it's... moreOkay, this is out of topic. Could you elaborate about how the cores actually make a difference vs despite the fancy 'octa-tag' they come with just for he market purpose?
I'd also be happy if you provide a link where they break each aspect of the part's of the phone that actually matter than misleading market strategies.
It might be worthy for many but i don't like it. Design is not cool, nor the ui. Moreover it's xiaomi, not a well known reputed brand so definitely a risk on customer service. But its India, you just need to put something known as high end in a extreme low price tag and its success. People keep talking about quad core, eight core, big screen, ram.. are they really aware of what cores are? About the types of ram? I know many would but much a bigger section don't. I believe this phone will crash down like canvas 2.
AnonD-237608, 19 Sep 2014Maybe you setted to automatic kill apps in a period of time (battery configuration). You need ... moreI can't find that you said how to close that... AnonD-298939, 21 Sep 2014Sorry, I want to read unbiased reviews. There are so many Xiaomi hipsters in India now I he... moreBuddy I am not a xiaomi worshiper, what I said wer the good things which are true. There are problems with miui. The low ram makes the launcher reload every time I take some pictures, play games, hell sometimes even after heavy browsing. That annoys me and this is on mi3. That's y I am planning to switch to aosp 4.4.4 stock Android as soon as it's bugs are ironed out.
AnonD-183168, 21 Sep 2014Been using this phone since about 10 days.

AnonD-309089, 20 Sep 2014In india 80% population use phones below INR 10,000 n since india is the 3rd largest internet ... moreWhat i said was that India has a low percentage of online shoppers in the total population compared to many other countries, especially Europe and North America where 80 year old people shop online. The ones who doesnt are in essence only the angry single guys living in remote areas who are suspicious to computers and afraid of people from the city.
