AnonD-295521, 28 Sep 2014So many disadvantages.... and people reckon its the best device on god's green earth. who'll s... moreLol! Interesting that those "disadvantages" are not mentioned for other phones.
-"Has unimpressive screen to body ratio" :Sony Z1, 2, 3;
-"We would take a bigger battery than a thinner phone any day": I'm sure that if ever a phone with Tegra K1 will be made, it will have a huge battery, as the TDP of the K1 is 11W (it will need active cooling), while the TDP of the A8 is 2W. The TDP of the Smapdragon 805 is 5W.
-"No microSD slot": Nexus, Lumia 920, Moto X, etc;
-"no user replaceable battery": give me a break. nexus, HTC One
-"Curved corners make it more slippery and easier to drop than the iPhone 5S" :- Nothig is more slippery than a M8.
-"No 32GB version, users forced to upgrade all the way to 64GB (which is cheaper this year, but a 32GB version should have been even cheaper or even standard)": -so 64 GB at the same price as 32 GB is a disadvantage?!?
-"Protruding camera lens makes the phone wobble if you don't have a case on":- Samsung Galaxy S5, Lumia 1020, LG G3, etc;
-"Camera is still merely 8MP four years in a row (granted, it's getting better with every new generation)": it's more than enough for Facebook, the guality is better than the photos taken with Z2/3.
-"No 4K video and video sound is still mono" : do you have a 4K TV or monitor yet?
-"Lacks the optical image stabilization of the iPhone 6 Plus", no problem, rent a van as Nokia did ;).
-"No enhanced resistance to liquids or dust"- Oh, my :p. I saw so many iPhone user complaining that dust entered their phones. lol!
-"Offers the same display pixel density fourth year in a row"- in the meantime our eyes are becoming better and our hands shorter :p.
-"NFC functionality limited to Apple Pay only": who used that before again?
-"No FM radio"- Ah, such a necessary feature! :p how can we live without it?
More crap follows, but I can't be bothered to care.
Iphone is style. Samsung is efficiency.
Y do people bother complaining. These companies choose their hardware because of the OS they are running and what they are ment to do. Iphone fans should remain faithfull to their brand and android fans should stick to theirs.
So many disadvantages.... and people reckon its the best device on god's green earth. who'll spend their hard earned money on this piece of crap which even bends under pressure.
I used to be apple's fans. But not anymore. Cause since steve job died, they lack of innovation.
in teh end i really don`t like this one. I`ll stick with my 5S for the next year, nothing lost for me (or anyone else to be fair).
Let's be fair. Iphone always has the best video card and the smoothest OS by far. I love the SGS5 I own and lower series (and a lot of other Android phones) but people I don't think understand the term specs in its useful meaning. It's not like storage where you can just say "1 TB is better than 2TB". Ram, CPU and GPU all work together. It's actually a complex subject not a simple matter of biggest number - not at all. The sad thing is all the android phones gloating about ram or clock speed on a cpu makes them seem really silly. They are calling the apple fans dumb for buying old junk when really they don't understand tech.. please guys read first.
We can hear out there,Galpha and Z3c fanboy "crying" and ..."crying"...
after look at GFXbench lagging behing the Iphone6.Iphone6 kick their beloved phone so bad. PowerVR GX6450 so awesome and beastly.
Im sorry for your guy......try hard next time..OK!!dont be sad....
X, 28 Sep 2014OK, let me give you a lesson on memories, I see you need it.
A processing device(a device th... moreP.S. Each core has its own L0 and L1 caches, while the RAM(L2) is shared between them.
I nothiced on the Geekbench benchmark, that only the A8 CPU from the iPhone 6 uses the L0 and L1 chaches, while the Snapdragon processors don't. Strange, but if that's true, then the Snapdragon architecture really sucks.
Iridium, 28 Sep 2014You used the RAM sized memory for you flash memory calculations, then contradict yourself and... moreOK, let me give you a lesson on memories, I see you need it.
A processing device(a device that uses a processor) needs memory to load data from.
For that there are available:
a) The main memory. Big, "slow" and "cheap".In the case of the phones, that's the Flash memory, of sizes from 8GB to 128GB.
b) The RAM memory. Small, "fast" and "expensive". It is used as a cache to stora data from the main memory.
c) More levels of cache. Each smaller and faster than the one below. Usually very small, 64KB for level "0", a few MB for level "1" cache. Level 0 is on the top, btw.
So, coming back to speed. The entire system is AT LEAST as fast as the slowest memory, the main memory, the Flash. Why? Because during the usage of the system, data from the caches/RAM needs to be replaced with data from the Flash memory, and I explained before how that works.
So, the iphone Flash memory is twice as fast as any Android phone Flash memory, because the bus between the Flash memory and the RAM is twice as wide. Period. There are other data buses, between the RAM and L1 cache, and between the L1 cache and L0 cache, and between the L0 cache and the CPU and GPU cores. If the RAM on the Note 4 has a quad channel bus, it is that bus is between the RAM and the four cores of the CPU, each channel is at 32 bits, but between the RAM and the Flash the bus is only dual channel at 32 bits each. On the iPhone the bus between the RAM and the Flash is dual channel at 64 bits, and the bus between the RAM and the CPU cores is quad channel at 64 bits each. For the Note, one CPU core has only one channel to the RAM(one operation at a time) and shares a channel with another core to the Flash(bottleneck). For the iPhone 6, each core has two channels to the RAM(two operations at a time) and one channel to the Flash(one operation, the most important, always guaranteed). So I hope is clear now for you, why the iPhone 6 is faster than the Note 4 or Edge. I do also hope that my lesson was not too difficult for you to comprehend.
I'm no Apple fan by any means but listing the infrared as a con is a bit much no? Also, yes the camera is still 8MP but it doesn't at all matter if the results are great.

Anyone with IQ above IDIOT will see this benchmark cheats...
Not sure if the iPhone is the best phone but it is definitely not like anything else. Samsung and the rest of the group cannot claim to be innovative as long as they all borrow Google's Android. They should sit down and create some nice new OS to give us more choice. I go for the iPhone not only because it is one of the best smarthphones but also because it is unique and different.
Anonymous, 27 Sep 2014but Iphone 6 kick Z3C in the ass on
Iphone 6 is much-2 stronger than Z3C.Other than the said bench mark
what are the other weapons got the ibanana to kick
Okay enough already..
X, 28 Sep 2014Btw, the subject is not the speed of RAM but the speed of the Flash memory. Totally different ... moreYou used the RAM sized memory for you flash memory calculations, then contradict yourself and the contradictional theory is a load of nonsense initself. You're sinking so fast, savior is pointless.
X, 28 Sep 2014Sorry but you missed the point. I've just given an example of what you could theoretically ach... moreNo, your theory was heavily flawed and false to begin with. The whole calculation makes zero sense and even if we single out a single bench favoring tye iPhone (which isn't that conclusive), it's still not twice as fast.
Those iPhone 6 benchmarks were insane. Totally didn't expect iPhones to wipe the competition like that.
