Another mobile tech site just made a blind test of the photos taken with the Note 4, iPhone 6, Z3, Note 3 and some other phones' cameras. Guess who won by a long shot? Two hints, not the iPhone, not the Sony. Remember, it's a blind test, so people who votes didn't know what photos belong to what. Bottom line is, just buy the Note 4.

Note that Note 3 is still powerful against its younger power hungry rivals.

However, it seems Note 4 couldn't do what its predecessor had achieved at the time. (I know.. many strong competitors, xphones etc. But still...)

AnonD-319797, 15 Oct 2014Ok but having 20 MP in your phone yo can change de photo resolution to whatever you want from ... moreIn your case this is good. I though have never had issues zooming in on 5Mp from my HTC - I dont try and zoom in long distance with people far in the background but you might be surprised. ?

Your comment about 8Mp for instance.. in order to double 8MP you need over 30 MP... So as you move up in MP's you're getting less increase percentage-wise while still using more memory space for those pictures t be stored.. The increase in quality isn't as big as you think ..

I work in healthcare and most people i know - whatever brand phone - post to facebook or take selfies... maybe vacation pics sometimes.. pictures of the kids in the yard.. the #1 use of any smart phone is texting and next facebook.

Most of the community which engage in serious photo editing use a dedicated camera with detachable lenses - not the 41 MP Windows phone you might enjoy much more..

I use a lot an android App called Cozy magnifier like a microscope to take macro shots with 4x to 16x. In 16x with 8MP (GN2) there is a lot of grain... I hope less grain when I'll have the GN4 with 20 MP... I tell you in one more week ;)

                AnonD-312097, 15 Oct 2014Great post dude ! Bang on the money!Not really..

The point is MP is over emphasized and just now a marketing gimmick. My HTC 5 MP takes great pics. Since the highest resolution screen in the world(4K screen) can only display 8 MP,, Id say anything more then 10MP is a waste of memory.

Finally, I saw yesterday a real Samsung Note 4 in a Samsung store here in Madrid. I compare it to my Note 3 and man, I can't believe I'm saying this but the Note 3 seemd so cheap with that plastic frame. Well done, Samsung. You designed beautifully the Note 4. I'm waiting a price drop and then I'll buy mine.

I can take a group family shot on a HTC with a healthy 5MP camera and still cut out bodies and still not look grainy..

The point is at what point does anyone realize that Megapixels has just become a marketing tool. Picture quality relies much more on sensor quality and other factors ..

Only a pro photographer IMHO and they won't... moreYou con change the MP in the phone to use less resolution if you want. But having 20 MP give you de advantage to cut a shot and get also a picture with mor than 2 MP. Imagin a image of 4 children where 2 or three are with bad gesture, but your daugther are lovely in this one, you can cut yor daugther face and still have a good shot with a good MP level.

Hope they make a mini note. 5.2" 1080p screen. With specs like note 3 so that its significantly cheaper than note 4. No more than $500 us outright.

An issue I have with camera MP's is who needs it ? Only a pro photographer IMHO and they won't be using a smartphone camera. You know what happens when you open an iPhone 8Mp picture on your Note 4 ? The screen can only show around 3 Mp's.. So your even higher MP pics taken on the Note 4 all get displayed at 3 Mp's. Most smartphones only view at 1080p - thats only 2MP - so your pics get shown even lower MP's then the Note 4. A 4K Widescreen Super HD TV cost $5 grand and up - the best screen in the world -yet they only display 8 Megapixels..

Point: High MP's camera pictures use too much space and most people will never need the MP's. And unless you PRINT pictures.. fairly big ones.. You still WONT see it.. and again.. If you're a hired pro.. try showing up at a wedding with even a 41 MP Windows phone and see how long you have a job.. HTC has a low MP camera that still takes high quality pics

Anonymous, 15 Oct 2014Extremely false! The iphone is not way more accurate. Just somewhat, because the Note 4 is no... moredont forget that gn4 can swap battery easily while all iphone cannot do the same.... i never put my phone (note2/note3 and s5) stuck on wall charger anymore

                                    i-fan will never understand this....

It couldn't send mms, had no 3g, couldn't record video, had no camera flash, and no flash support.

Even flip phones back the could do most or all of that. Plus send bluetooth files, use SD cards, and remove batteries.

Flip phones were more advanced. They even could run flash content and use apps.
And smart phones were already moving forward. Apple just jumped on the bandwagon.
Symbian was the true continuing advancing system them.
All the iphone did was make things more popular to the technologically naive.
