musicalbox, 16 Oct 2014even with the alien fingers you type twice as slow on physical keyboard than on something like... moreSure, it takes a week or two to get used to - but after that - a physical keyboard wins every day of the week.
do an HTML5Test BB10 has the fastest browser. It's just under desktops chrome browser.
The Passport has 4k Video Recording
BB10 is not compatible with BIS like BBOS use to be
Whoever comments negatively about the passport or any BB10 device has never really used one for more than 2 weeks. I say 2 weeks because Blackberry 10 devices are different, and as with anything that is different you need some time to get used to it.
I have been in the mobile phone business for over 11 years and I test every single high end handset be it Symbian, Apple, Android, Blackberry etc...and I can confidently say the Blackberry 10 OS is the best OS available. Over 30 customers of mine were converted to Blackberry in one year by offering them a fully money back guarantee if they don't fall in love with their BB10 device within two weeks. Not a single Blackberry 10 device was returned.
The passport is an awesome handset, and whoever says it's ugly or a fail talks and speaks of lack of experience and utter naivety. It is an insane and awesome handset, it is a smart handset, a true innovation...but one thing this phone isn't and that is it isn't a toy...you want a toy go get yourself a Apple, the Passport is a real communication device!
Sindroid, 16 Oct 2014The ugliest phone ive seen.. Epic fail. BB is gone within 1 to 2 years..So, you think that the Passport is ugly?!? Is oblivious for me that you didn't saw THIS. Look at those bezels! www.gsmarena.com/apple_iphone_6_plus-pictures-6665.php

The dimensions have FAIL written all over it. Just like that LG Vu or something that flopped.
While I'm certainly not a Passport fan, maybe because of its unexpected announcement and unusual form factor (complete with an awkward keyboard design), I do happen to see the potential in this device.
As it turned out, I was right with that, as
Anonymous, 16 Oct 2014True. I had one E61 which I really enjoyed it. That was my last Nokia before I move to Blackbe... moreYeah, it had a really awesome querty keyboard. I enjoyed the E series and the Communicator series from Nokia. Were awsome for business.
pM, 16 Oct 2014The form factor of this phone reminds me of the Nokia E61i.True. I had one E61 which I really enjoyed it. That was my last Nokia before I move to Blackberry long ago.
Iconic is all I can say and I like iconic stuff. As a practical solution for trying to get blackberry reining again I think that day as long surpassed. I think their biggest mistake was when they announced they would be selling the Blackberry commercially and that in my opinion is where it went wrong for them.
Miroslav, 16 Oct 2014I had it, and returned it. On top of say good bye to single hand use, it's a bad android phone... moreAs a BB z10 user, I can tell that you have no idea what you're talking about when it comes to android apps. Like someone else already said, I have 1mobile android appstore and all the apps that I used work flawlessly. Furthermore, I was able to find 99.9% of the apps that I was looking for, including region specific apps.
That being said, my educated guess is that you never held a BB Passport in your hand, or any other BB OS10 device.
Miroslav, 16 Oct 2014I had it, and returned it. On top of say good bye to single hand use, it's a bad android phone... moreno, you never had a passport.
and it runs android apps better than majority android phones :) bet it is not an Android phone
and regarding apps:
amazon app store is already preloaded to passport.
why did you use a pc to load apps?
also you can use any other Android app store, like 1mobile, etc...
even with the alien fingers you type twice as slow on physical keyboard than on something like swift-key these days...
so all advantages of this phone are gone, only cons remain...
BB, why don't you die finally?
Miroslav, 16 Oct 2014I had it, and returned it. On top of say good bye to single hand use, it's a bad android phone... moreI'm sure you never tried passport nor any new BlackBerry OS10 otherwise you will be aware they don't run android but BB10. Go home and don't come here just to bash. Enjoy your useless life.
I had it, and returned it. On top of say good bye to single hand use, it's a bad android phone, 80% of android apps run with problems or doesen't run at all. This phone doesent have one single feature where it is great, bether than others phones.
Definitly a good phone despite I am not BB fan. For business is very appropriate becasue the sq screen is more practical than todays screen ratios. To check mail, browse and work with office is premium on it. High security is a very big plus that no one compete with except for windows phone business sector. Supporting the android apps is another good bonus. Simply for business is the most appreciated phone as far. Comparing to iphone , i think it is not even approriate to thinck iphone in business class with all shortage in maney sectors and a bunch of apps or game make no difference for money makers, while the note 4 has great features but the security issue with android is still a problem for bissness.
Great step from BB to come back at least for high socioeconomic people.
The review forgot to mention Blend capability on Passport and future BB devices (once OS is updated to 10.3). In my view Blend is a great feature that allows Blackberry user to work on PC or tablet (android or iOS) without touching the device. So you can reply texts, BBM, em-mails, etc directly form your computer. And is cloud risk free as Blend just mirrors your Blackberry to you computer or tablet (cross-platform not like other where you can do it only on the same platform). Should the reviewer have time, it would be nice to have some comments form him/her on this feature.
