amoled display without flickering
very good color temperature and grayscale
bad color reproduction
bad sound in headphones
bad color reproduction in camera
Great phone overall. But,honestly, when did Motorola ever make a good camera?
MysticMaka, 11 Nov 2014This phone crush the Galaxy Note 4 in benchmark department. I give some respect to the Moto X ... moreIt only shows how many people are stupid enough to judge phones by benchmarks.
This phone crush the Galaxy Note 4 in benchmark department. I give some respect to the Moto X 2014 too good results compared to Samsung.
This shows how good android stock is and how well Motorola optimized his phone.
Z3C, 10 Nov 2014Battery life is good but it's behind Sony Xperia Z3 Compact. And its form factor is creepy and... moreKeep in mind that it has way more pixels, more powerful chipset, larger screen...so 90hrs is pretty good.
Very good in AnTuTu score, but the price would be expensive if they release Moto maxx international into Asia region.
This phone is for North America, it looks like North America mobile because of very old ugly design.
I would've loved the chance to get a Sony Z3 Compact, but since I'm on AT&T in the USA, that's not going to happen. I have a Moto G 4G LTE which I love, but because the battery is embedded, I would like a device of similar size and a bigger battery. Thought my dreams came true when Motorola released this, then found out it's only on Verizon. Just my luck.
MHanz, 11 Nov 2014I think reviewers are being too generous when they claim "there is a lot of detail" ... moreYou're right, I tried this phone at a Verizon store, took a pic. but it wasn't all that good, I thought it was because of indoor condition. But even the pictures in review don't look all that good.
I think reviewers are being too generous when they claim "there is a lot of detail" in the shots. There is less detail, there is clear evidence of over-processing to remove noise. Everything is soft and hardly ever sharp. They could use some over-sharpening like Samsung employs.
The IM webbrowsing time is very good for QHD AMOLED along with talk time which is insane but the weakness as always with Motorola is the video play back time. For an AMOLED it behaves rather oddly like an IPS LCD almost tracking with what it gives on web tests. Video play back should be yielding much more time if it can do so well on IM/Web tests, at least another 4-5 hrs. Either driver optimization is decidedly weak or they have doing something funky with the backplane for the AMOLED panel
Funny bone, 10 Nov 2014How did you get Batman's phone number? Also, he allowed you to share it?That was just a mockup...
Angry Mobile Nerd, 11 Nov 2014Wow look at those dated wallpapers and clock widgets. They couldn't be further from current... moreExactly I feel the same, utterly uninspiring UI, like the Motorola before Google's takeover.
Wow look at those dated wallpapers and clock widgets.
They couldn't be further from current UI design language trends.
I was expecting much more. Note 4 has bigger display, smaller battery and got 17h for video.
