Muthu, 31 Jan 2015I thought he had a point. When apple iphone 6 was reviewed, it was blasted left, right, center... moreIts because iphone6 is a flagship fone with lower-middle midrange fone specs priced as a high range fone. Galaxy A5 isnt even the best model of the A series and it is priced as an upper midrange fone with middle midrange specs. See the difference? A5 is worthy of its classification but iphone6 cmon man the specs isnt worthy of the word "flagship"
AnonD-142922, 31 Jan 2015removable battery is a must ..??!?!? PLease explain .. WHY ?replaceable .. upgradeable
Anonymous, 31 Jan 2015I dont understand. How do you want the price to performance ratio be presented? "OMG WTF ... moreI thought he had a point. When apple iphone 6 was reviewed, it was blasted left, right, center for being expensive still not providing comparable specs (display resolution, camera, battery etc). When Samsung does the same with A5, the criticism is very mild. I am not an apple fanboy or sammy fanboy. But to me, A5 deserves more criticism than iphone 6 (considering the state samsung finds itself it, due to exactly devices like this). But this device gets all praise and very little criticism. Looks to me double standards.
this is waay too expensive. I just saw the sim free price for the alpha too, in a career store. Guess what: 435 euros for a 2012 phone
Anonymous, 31 Jan 201564 bit + 2 GB RAM = gimmick Needs 4GB minimum. Sammy fooling its customers again. Why doesnt you carry your pc along with u every where, 2 GB is enough
AnonD-3131, 31 Jan 2015I don't think you can say that. Samsung s5 costs Rs 33,499 in India which is only Rs 8000 more... moreCompare it to the S6 when that comes out. The A5 is HKD$3500 rrp, when a typical flagship by Apple, Samsung, HTC or Sony will typically be HKD$6000.

Ayush01, 31 Jan 2015Is GS*A paid by Samsung? When u see the price to performance ratio, its far frm good.Yet Gsm is ... moreThere's nothing wrong with its performance, it's more than fine. It's just not on the level with a flagship phone, but then it costs about a third less.
Finally a phone from Samsung which looks durable. I would love to buy it if only it was free from these disadvantages.
Speaker & flash placement on the back is too outdated & ugly. If you put a case on, it'll look exacly the same as S3 which is now 3 years old phone.
Snapdragon 410 is more befitting cheaper, lower midrange devices
It's comparatively pricey for the hardware features offered
Dual-SIM version forfeits microSD
Battery is non-removable
Duos tag unnecessarily screams on the back
A5 is soo expensive that it is only $100 cheaper than ALPHA which is a great device.
pretty impressive performance i must say. not too happy about the price tag though.
removable battery is a must .. but really hated how some samsung back covers are hopeless like in my Note2 case
anyway samsung did it again .. midrange phone with big price tag
Arena why u putting non removable battery as disadvantage???
That is BIG REALLY BIG Advantage!
Or u want more ppl with burning samsung phones??
Am so glad samsung got brain and they stopped making phones with removable back!
All smartphones SHOULD be with an non removable batt. From now on!
Safety is important!
At least naive ppl wont buy crappy batteries too!

How do you want the price to performance ratio be presented? "OMG WTF SUPAH PRICEY FOR MIDRANGE S***..." Like that? GSMarena already pinpointed that it is pricey, no need to go buckwild on that. And they also gave alternatives at the last page for those who are not satisfied with the phone so whats up with the hurt on GSMarena?
