I really cant understand whats the problem in having a design like an iPhone...when galaxy s2-s5 were launched, there was a lot of criticism about the plastic materials being used. now that samsung has used premium materials, then again they are being criticised for copying iphone's design?? whats with all of u people???
For me, the only problem with iphone were the specs and with earlier samsung galaxy was the built quality and design..Now Samsung combined both into a single phone and then also they are being criticised???
It would be interesting to do a Bend-Test and if s6 passes this, that means they hav done a commendable job considering the sleek profile of the phone...
Secondly, why are people complaining about the absence of the ip certification??????????? i think the people who should be complaining about it either be plumber or people using the phone while swimming...just kiding...i hav an s3 and i use it to read newspaper while m in the washrum in morning. (:D)...and never has it happend that my phone slipped into the water...so we hav to be careful with it... thats it...
thirdly, about sd card, i think samsung should hav included the slot for it, but if the price difference between the different versions of the phones is not much, then i think they hav covered this point also...(btw m happy with the 32gb version)...
These were my views...many people might not be accepting my point of view....my s3 is 2.5 years old and m dying to buy another phone and most probably, m going to buy this phone...
How the beep are fullscreen movies or photos going to look on a bent display lol... Or are the sides cropped to some inferior screen ratio? Lol
Damn man it looks exactly like iphone 6 from sides....samsung what r u doing....
Bailey, 02 Mar 2015Why do people keep talking about off contract prices most people will be getting this on contr... moreNot a fan of samsung but i think this time Samsung did a great job with s6 edge. And edge looks nothing like apple and even if some have felt they copied any device, then I must say they made it better. Sdcard/non-removable battery make sense. Anyone who can afford high price phone will definitely have high speed data/wifi connection and would rather sync to cloud storage then swapping memory cards ( there may be few exceptional people) rather turning off and removing battery, a battery pack makes more sense. The only issue is if the battery gets screwed for some reason, we will have to rely on service center, but that is a very rare case
No sd, no ip sertfication, glass back anf a smal battery. What are you doing samsung? I'll wait for z4 or m9.
Exactly this. I have a spare battery, used it twice, I mean, don't forget unless you buy a stand alone charger for it you still have to charge both batteries. I own a 16gb S4..sure space runs out, I then delete all my movies, (which I normally stream anyway). The edge only comes in 64gb and 128gb variants, 64 is more than enough before I have to go sifting through getting rid of crap I dont need. Im glad I did not upgrade to the s5, I will be upgrading to the edge version, because quite frankly, it looks nice and it goes. 10 minutes charge for four hours worth of use? Excellent. They have done well with this, I just hope they can integrate the edge so its more useful..either way its definetly worth upgrading to. Im wondering if the battery is soldered or clipped in, just out of curiosity of course.
I don't see the complaints with this phone being valid.
Are we seriously complaining that the phone isn't waterproof now? I see a lot of people claiming that it's sorely missing that trademark feature... S2, S3 and S4 were NOT waterproof. No MicroSD slot is a downer as many love that I myself have an S4 with 16GB internal memory and a 32GB memory card. I still have 2.5gb internal and 6gb on the microsd. See as the S4 internal after 16gb is only 9.5gb I don't see this being a problem for me. 64GB would be suiffice and 128gb would be more than what I would even need on my phone.
The Exynos chipset is said to be 30% more efficient than Snapdragon I'll wait for reviews for that and see how the battery.

In reality, the only acceptable option (For a "flagship") is a battery lasting a day with whatever usage. I'd never buy a "flagship" until companies cease their childish behaviour and stop compromizing.

It's on my phone when I commute, and I switch the set to my tablet when I want to see it on a bigger screen at home or at a café.
Carrying a power bank means you need a bag all the time. They aren't exactly nice to pocket.
It's ironic that Apple users boast to have very thin devices, however they still bring in the charger and plug in to keep their power juiced up, and have contented in having even a power bank just too. We're being brained washed that this is convenient, but it really isn't.
I've enjoyed being a heavy user of my unlimited data for the past 3 years with my Galaxy Note models, and have been just carrying an extra battery to replace. The spent battery is charge on a charging cradle while you sleep. It just takes 80 seconds to replace & start your device. You rather having to wait longer for a full charge?

MicroSD is unnecessary with storage options from 64-128GB and people that need a removable batter, well, go find another brand.
If you need a spare battery for charging, just buy a power pack. They are just as good.
i like the s6 edge design. No need to release two phones. the "edge" could have been just the S6. But maybe they cannot mass produce it yet.
Samsung's not gettin more customers by removing the sdcard and replaceable batt option. smaller battery too!
Overall im disappointed with HTC and Samsung.
So these phones doesn't have "Main Disadvantages"??? Coz I am only seeing the "Key Features"!!! Lol.. Just saying...
Don't like to miss the SD card option. But Samsung is heading to 64bit with SSD +eMMC fuse. SD card a big lack on that as . They might purposely want to have a big user improve experience. If they can create mode with 256GB or 512GB with minimal cost. Sure win.
I keep reading "lack of innovation" etc
My question is; in what way can you innovate. Android handsets are at the end of giant leaps of innovation. The next step will be watches and other interfaces. All you can do is customize to segments within, tailor the offering since the OS isn't coded for a specific hardware set which could help it run on lower specs.
Some consumers made noise about metal, then when they add some, they are talking gibberish about design language.
Just this morning I offered a relative a Nexus 4, his reply was I want a name company. He was using a Samsung Ace 2. When I explained Nexus was from LG, he was surprised but still wanted to go with Samsung.
I would always keep my photos and music on the SD card and also backup data onto it.
Samsung might have probably ditched the microSD card slot thinking that a lot of them now use cloud storage AND/OR USB OTG, which is certainly not true.
You can use USB OTG, but I totally agree with all of you that an SD card slot would have been better.
I'm from India and I'm eagerly waiting for the One M9 and S6 to come to the country soon. I'll be deciding later on.
Does anyone have any idea when the HTC One M9 might launch in the Asia-Pacific region or USA?
For me, this is the most aggressive form of immitation and a blatantly and heavily inspired by iPhone. Following the flop of S5 and seeing the market success of iPhones, instead of showcasing again their design language, they now copy Apple's with some tweaks here and there. The plactic build, removable battery, SD card slot which are normally their distinguishable feature from iPhone (which sammy fanboy are bragging) are now gone. The placement of audio jack, speaker and its perforation, well just see it and the side curves. Remember how the criticized fingerprint sensor with swiping interface of S5 is now in Apple's way, yes now just place on top of home button. Good thing they didnt name it SamID or something. LOL. And finally Im afraid for sammy fans when the time comes samsung will remove USB Mass storage mode and outs iTunes-like software thay they will call sTunes to manage media in it. LOL
