AnonD-80165, 24 Mar 2015I see almost no throttling on exynoss 5433 on my note4. And when it does its still above sd810... moreYes, we know, but something went seriously wrong with the SD 810 development.

If you take a SD 810 processor (Just the processor, not the phone) and benchmark it in a wide-open space, it should easily beat the SD 805 and Exynos 5433.

However, these chips are being placed inside phones, which are small and thus have bad heat tolerance.
Inside the phone, the SD 810 CPU heats up way more than average, so manufacturers have to throttle the performance down. It just so turns out that the 810's performance inside a phone is worse than the SD 805 and Exynos 5433.

I see almost no throttling on exynoss 5433 on my note4. And when it does its still above sd810 benches. And it is still 32bits...

darkraver, 23 Mar 2015And you believe there is no throttling in exynos7420 ? We cant even compare, cause there are ... more*sigh*...

The SD 810 had to be throttled so much that its performance is comparable to the SD 801.

            http://www.xda-developers.com/to-worry-or-not-to-worry-the-sd810-an-m9-and-throttling/

Yes, the Exynos 7420 will throttle after a few hours of intense use, but it won't throttle to SD 805-levels.

Savor , 23 Mar 2015Old habits are hard to break and HTC went back to having bad battery life. Phone Arena's 6 hrs... moreScared? I prefer to call it "choice." Many people lead very active lives and some of them would rather have a more manageable phone, rather than a phablet. I love big screened phones too, but I do find them a bit tiresome after a while.

We cant even compare, cause there are no existing tests of exynos

But sd810 is everywhere, on every thirdparty unverifiable test table....

Seems quite plain out suspicious to me...

AnonD-159252, 23 Mar 2015This should bring you some clarification http://www.stjsgadgets-portal.com/2015/03/snapdragon-... moreWow 2 degrees hotter than 801...that is....monstrously hotter than before, it boils your eyes even watchlng the device running

And What is the source for your link, I cannot see any verifiable information as to the story of these tests...

My link at least has graphs with watermarks by some laboratory, so maybe I am more inclined to believe those than these...

Anyways, if someone could provide us readers here with a test of direct competitor, the exynos7420 heating limit degrees, I would be much very gratefull, you know, just to proove your claim
and not from sammys site but some third party tester...

You would not find it, seems entire blogosphere is occupied with testing the 810 cause of that intentionally created mythos....

                  Where are exynos testing?

As you can see the 810 reached the highest temperature.

darkraver, 23 Mar 2015No heat issue on basic android: http://m.pocketnow.com/2015/02/16/snapdragon-810-overheatin... moreI don't think samsung have to do anything with it,that's just qualcomm being pressured by Htc and Lg to minimize the damage done on sales number, the phone has been properly tested with the latest firmware and you can make a decent omelette on it (properly tested means with radios and antennas and not downclocked processor as qualcomm used in their test). It's not like other phones dont get hot especially when 4g is on and play a game with high graphic requirements or shoot a 4k video but they wont run as hot as the M9 does, as you can imagine you will need to change the battery after a year or so cause its life will be greatly reduced ..

This is not true for smartphones, as the lower space gives the phone much lower heat tolerance. We can see with the M8, with 12h web-browsing and the M9 with 7.5h web-browsing.

Also, the M9 isn't getting any more major firmware releases except Android 5.1 and the next major Android revision. For the most part, the M9 is finalized and not much change will happen with the battery life.
The S6 still needs to be reviewed with the proper Qualcomm modem, which could significantly affect stand-by time, talk-time and web-browsing time. I'm talking about a change in 2-5 hours in each metric.
