Anonymous, 04 Apr 2015Yeah, that Samsung mongoose core rumors for the Note 5 peaked my interest. I'll wait late this... moreWell I am more or less confident that the battery life of Note 5 will be very good, cause I am already getting 6-7 hours SOT on my Note 3 running in LP, so I won't be shocked if I get around 9-10 hours SOT. That'd be really good, and this is coming from a person who doesn't give a darn about battery life.
AnonD-335213, 04 Apr 2015yes, you absolutely have your point on that. but I believe that Samsung is somewhat trying to ... moreA better solution to non-expandable storage on Note 5 would be to release it with 64 GB base model. That can be perhaps the best idea Samsung can come with
m86k, 04 Apr 2015That's some competition killer review.
Anyone liking tech will find this undeniable. Others... moreActually I don't think it's non nerdy to want water protection or an FM.
And its definitely nerdy to want an SD slot.
That's some competition killer review.
Anyone liking tech will find this undeniable. Others will just focus on cheap MicroSD, FM radio and other water resistance capacity and it's their right. They aren't real nerds, liking the latest, greatest and most powerful (like buying newest cpu or gfx card each new generation).
G4 is still 24 days away for only an announcement and Z4 MIA until proven otherwise. I think that's a big business mistake from them to let that royal way to Samsung. But Samsung is getting that good comforting tap on their shoulder and that's great for them after so many critics last year.
I will surely buy the Galaxy S6 over Galaxy S6 edge and the reason being :
1.That edge functions are real gimmicks and unnecessary.
2. Though S6 Edge looks better that S6 , it does not justify that Rs 10000 more(Indian rupee).
3. Keeping that edge functions will eat up the battery a lot as suggested by gsmarena as it says:
"Note that these numbers were achieved with Night Clock and other Edge features turned off. Night Clock takes an extra 3% per 12 hours, which has only a small impact on the total endurance. If you enable the other Edge features, the Endurance rating drops to 54 hours since the screen digitizer is active all the time."
gsmarena has updated the battery endurance of Samsung Galaxy S6 retail version. And the endurance is of 73 HOURS which is exactly the same as Galaxy S6 Edge(73 HOURS). I am finding it difficult to believe and understand. The reason: How can 3G Talktime, Web browsing and Video playback all be exactly the same???? given that Galaxy S6 has 2550 mAh battery and S6 edge has 2660 mAh battery ????????
Johnny, 04 Apr 2015No SD Card port and no removable battery ? Samsung is really disappointing with this on the S... moreyes, you absolutely have your point on that. but I believe that Samsung is somewhat trying to venture into another sort of designed if you call it that way, and besides; I believe that the use of its new UFC 2.0 would have a say on the matter. Hmm but it shall be fixed though, quite sure on that! on the Note 5 & Note Edge 2 perhaps? Hmm. that's something to look forward to is it not?
Levy, 04 Apr 2015This phone should probably satiate the desire of style gluttons out there, but the rest of us ... moreOh wow!, you have an absolutely great English vocabulary!
"The Samsung Galaxy S6 edge hardware is further ahead of its competition than its predecessors ever have and it has the looks to match its brains too. That would certainly be a rather high ball for the rest of the competition to catch, but eventually, it would be its exorbitant price tag that will make sure it doesn't reach world domination."
You are absolutely right on this statement. But on the other hand however, with its premium build quality, its look and rarity, monstrous features and its absolute beastly performance, if you simply want nothing but the best and the greatest, if you have a job and you're well compensated by it, come-on; save some, then if you have enough, get it! Coz one thing for sure, that even with its "exorbitant", hefty price tag, it is going to be, somewhat justified.
DaXiong, 04 Apr 2015You need FM-radio when you don't have coverage or don't have unlimited data (or want to save b... moreWait.... Most chips have FM and its pretty much payed to be butchered????? That's beyond ridiculous.
And exactly. Just because you don't like/need a feature... Or think that until it's too late. Doesn't mean you should go around bashing on others for wanting it. Or making excuses of how nobody needs it.
AnonD-236955, 04 Apr 2015Why is that we can manually taje the brightness upto only 470 when in auto mode the screen can... moreBecause the 470 nits is really bright and the auto is so it can get brighter when it needs to, but not kill battery life by being jacked up so high to like 700+ nits all the time.
At least that's what's claimed
Why it's not compared with iPhone in benchmark tests
Anonymous, 03 Apr 2015FM radio? You should be still living 10 years in the past. Who needs FM radio on a mobile when... moreYou need FM-radio when you don't have coverage or don't have unlimited data (or want to save battery). Also in USA and other countries live sport events don't stream online it's just on FM (or AM) radio. When you are abroad you probably don't have free online streaming either...
Also if there is a power outage then the mobile data network is one of the first things that are shut down in order to save power at the mobile stations running on battery power. Then a mobile phone without FM is useless for receiving disaster/emergency information.
The FM functionality is included in most chipsets, just that American operators pay the companies to disable the functionality by grounding the antenna. So you're only defending greedy corporations that disallow you to use something you already have in your phone.
You have to wonder what kind of people are arguing against free choice for other people...
Johnny, 04 Apr 2015No SD Card port and no removable battery ? Samsung is really disappointing with this on the S... moreDon't worry, you're not that important, I think maybe you're dead weight, now Sammy can move to greater heights.
Why is that we can manually taje the brightness upto only 470 when in auto mode the screen can go to its full brightness of 700 nits. and people are you getting the edge or the normal
I already placed my order for this phone and im now waiting for the LG G4.
No SD Card port and no removable battery ?
Samsung is really disappointing with this on the S6 and S6 Edge.
The Note 5 should better have those two important features (SD Card + removable battery) or for the first time in 13 years I will have to buy a phone from another brand !
Battery live 54h ...hahaha
