If you don't need to play the heaviest games,
even the 1GB version of the moto G2015 is enough!
This phone offers great display, battery life,
speakers, stock android (+quick updates).
If you need a cheap quality phone from a quality brand,
go Moto G 3rd Gen !!

I'm glad I bought a ZenFone 2, as all midrange phones released recently are disappointing. I came from a Blu Life Play (quad A7 1.2GHz, 1GB RAM, 4.7" 720p IPS screen, 1800mAh battery) which is very similar to previous and actual Moto G phone and originally cost me $215 in 2013I'm glad I bought a ZenFone 2, as all midrange phones released recently are disappointing. I came from a Blu Life Play (quad A7 1.2GHz, 1GB RAM, 4.7" 720p IPS screen, 1800mAh battery) which is very similar to previous and actual Moto G phone and originally cost me $215 2013, but with better GPU and dual SIM capability. The 1GB RAM was getting long in the tooth, CPU was not lacking as much. Battery life was decent. I was worried about getting a 5.5"phone, but within a day I got used to the ZenFone. Performance is astonishing compared to even high end models (S5, iPhone 5s, various Huawei models), and of course is day and night compared to my old Blu. I don't think this new Moto G or even the new Moto X is better value than ZenFone 2.

The Mi4 is better in every way possible except for the differences like the IPX7 rating. So is the Galaxy J7 which only lacks an extra 500MB of RAM (yes, that was a bit stupid). Do not forget the Zenfone 2 either, if you bother to add Taiwanese 'crap' too.
The only saving grace for moto is that they release kernel sources to aid development community, and it's a great community at that. The fun just stops there, dead. Nothing more to recommend it for.

After reading the negative comments below, I feel people are expecting way too many things in a low budget phone. not sure why people are comparing this with those Chinese phones. in my opinion at this budget Motorola has given a best camera. no phone has dared to give a water proof mobile at this price range. its a branded phone. no heating issues, and someone specified that its a sandwich and I couldn't stop laughing at that ignorant comment and I doubt if they really got a chance to hold this phone. its sleek and stylish. common people, if you are against Motorola that's fine but just don't comment negative if you are really not using this phone. This phone is worth every penny. Especially for those who want a stylish phone is low budget. compared to all those crap Samsung and Chinese phones, this one would be the best bet.

May be in "Main disadvantages" section they should also add - THIS PHONE DOESN'T HAVE A GYROSCOPIC SENSOR (as found in Moto G2)
So, this phone is not working with Google Cardbord and other VR apps.
We got disappointed after my friend buying this just on the same day it got launched in Flipkart. Nowhere it's highlighted. And, not sure of any alternative soft solutions available so far.
Manufacturer should have considered this, as VR is going to be the next giant leap in mobile evolution.
We couldn't spare one more mobile for our experimentations.
If you really are interested in VR experiments, think twice before you buy. Otherwise, it is seems to be a great phone.

That's subjective. I find every google app to be just that. The only one I ever use is YouTube, and you cannot delete the rest. Waste of memory.

AnonD-427134, 08 Aug 2015My G3 heats to the level of 43 degrees. Buy moto g 3rd gen instead then. You see the picture there. We can put it in ice to cool it down. The water resistant feature helps a lot.

Horrible cameras. The front camera is worse than the moto g 2 camera. I have both of them. A major Let down! Fix it motorola!

lenovo built motorola doesn't deliver where it is required. the fused battery is a big drawback. motorola should be able to forecast the required specs, so ordering a day old chipsets could be avoided
