The battery too a hard hit after all, 30% less browsing time.
Z3c owners should skip this one.
Lollipop and 810 took their toll, if Sony was using 3gb ram and 1080p it would have been even worse. Marshmallow will fix standby times and stamina too, but nothing will help the Z5c with its poor browising times.
Most of the sites criticise the design due to lack of metal frame and glorify its camera, yet gsmarena thinks its the other way around. So I guess this must be a subject of personal opinion...
So for the moment, this model is a safe bet mostly for the ones who want super performance in compact size, all the reviews agree on that and is so happens to be what I am also particularly interested at.

that's a shame. Yeah it's more powerful yata yata yata and it's fast and all these but, what about it's audio? I was hoping it would be great with great volume levels, not this. Hopefully Sony will update these as well as the camera issues you mentioned.
Coming from the old Sony Ericsson W995 I see great improvements in almost every aspect, but the audio in every smartphone is still inferior to the superiority of W995. I really hope that the regular Z5 will be good in audio quality, and have some decent volume levels. If not I will have to root it sadly, things I think I don't want to start messing with. But I want some decent, loud volume, period.

marco, 08 Oct 2015this is more like a downgrade from z3c. really disappointed with sonyWhat do you mean? Better display, better cameras, better and faster processor, fingerprint reader, and a stronger and better looking aluminium frame, still a downgrade? You're funny

I just wonder that there is not a single word about overheating and consistency of performance given the bad reputation of the processor versus Sony's heat pipe solution. It had been informative if you had investigated this part.

You have superb solution. With just 2 big cores, will it perform as in Snap 808?

Glad to know I'll be happy sticking with my Z3C for this generation. The Z5C has great improvements, but not enough to entice me. That somewhat reduced battery endurance is also a bit of a bummer. Maybe the Z6C (and SD820 combo?) will bring back some of the power usage improvements seen in the Z3C.

I bought the iPhone 6s instead, it's a great phone but there are too many little issues I have which annoy me personally.

Why you guys keep saying "superb build quality" for a phone which's outer material is glass? Glass is fragile as heck! Please try to be practical when saying that, noticing that a lot now. What is build quality? If build quality is measured by just looking at a phone, then keep that saying, but if its about actually using the phone, then kindly don't say that nuisance.

Is the photo in the review title a hint for how to use the phone in real life? Always carry it like that and then put it inside a huge comfy purse? ROFL

Anyway, this phone has lesser endurance than Z3C, and the camera is still not up to the mark, and it's bigger and yet its a compact, and still 720p, what is wrong with Sony?

xvi, 08 Oct 2015I'd like to see them fit a 4.8" screen into the same sized body next time. I really don't thin... moreFitting a 4.8" display into a 127 mm tall is very difficult, almost impossible, considering all the latest and best hardware fitted in plus making it water and dust proof with 2 front facing speakers. Althou 4.7 can be achieved, with that extra width.

I'd like to see them fit a 4.8" screen into the same sized body next time. I really don't think it is too unreasonable and that 4.8" is still small enough to be used by anybody comfortably given thin enough bezels.
