In the end the same conclusion as DXO.
Xperia Z5 wins with The S6 right behind him and the iPhone is way behind.
Low light photos,hand held with a smart phone are better with the best image stabilisation. Image stability,hand held, is electronic and,or optical.
From the vote, iPhone wins the low light, hand held camera test.
The others claim image stabilisation. This study shows that image stabilisation they claim is not at all true, so it seems.
I don't think Sony Z5 is the best cameraphone.. yes, resolution and hardware is here, but software processing is the worst of three. i didn't expect that it would win the competition tooday. i have a z3c right now and the texture of the photos are the worst, and i find the same results in the z5 now.
The review of the z5c describes also auto-focus problems, and i have the same thinkg running on my z3c.
im not surprise if the xperia z5 win the overwall best camera, becuz dynamic contrast enchancer doesnt improve only contrast, but the color saturations and the high dynamic range, crystal clear images with blacker blacks and white balance, this review is a proof. plus, its definitely that sony should win this camera test becuz they took photography in serious ways. well done sony :D
Pity the test did not mount the phones in a one-holder-for-all unit. Obviously the shutter-press-timings are different, judging by the sun's shadows, etc.
Seems that all of the "smarts" do not have a timer-shutter-release?
That makes each camera with different sun-shadow settings, camera-shake variations, and target-object light-movement variations. Too many stupid variables that do not need to be there at all.

About 4K, camera phones still don't get there, more cons then pros here and not anyone will use this resolutions. While 4K stabilization is disastrous in the majority of the phones 1080p is another league and this mainstream resolution should be the focus and the press compares phone cameras.
Anyway, Z5 camera is made to produce 8mp photos, GSM Arena knows this right? That the full resolution is only a bonus, they know right?!
If Sony doesnt win it, then there is something very wrong, that's like the good thing in a Sony Handset.

2) I just give a little 'edge' to the S6 in video department (I love saturated colours).
3) Hate the fact that they didn't include the LG G4 in this test as its manual mode is just awesome.
O Gee, 23 Oct 2015The z5 clearly is the best camera here overall, the fact that the iphone has the worst field o... moreI am an Apple fan but I have to agree with you. I recently bought my boyfriend a Sony Xperia Z1S because of it's 20+ MP camera since he loves to take pix when we go out. I just couldn't see spending $600-$700 on a phone at this time.

I don't get what you mean in the video stills, the z5 still had the best field of view and looked the sharpest. Any way we are all entitled to our opinion, but the z5 won this test.
i chose c. because i prefer cooler tones with sharp details. i dont zoom/crop my photos ever but A may have performed better on this..
Why 2 sets of pictures? lots of time i would vote A but in the crop i would say b. stupid
It's unbelievable the amount of people here voting for the camera half the field of view in video mode. This way it's easy have a good image, processing only half the scene.
You must compare LG G4 with them... If your understand about the photography with all light conditions, you will choose LG G4 the best Camera Phone..
A= Samsung Galaxy S6
The colours are a lot saturated and punchy, pictures are vibrant, there's a good amount of detail and low light performance is very good as it has the biggest aperture (f/1.9) and also the best video performer.
B= Apple iPhone 6s
The pictures have the highest dynamic range and the colours are little softer than that of 'A', the field of view (fov) is between that of 'A' and 'B' and the pictures have less detail (12MP vs 16MP and 23MP).
C= Sony Xperia Z5
The pictures have a lot of detail (biggest sensor) and good amount of dynamic range and colour saturation, also the biggest fov so overall pictures are very good but corner sharpening is clearly visible (Sony cameras are famous for this) and low light pictures show noise and also not so good performance in video department.
abubasim, 23 Oct 2015Now this is something I can't understand: you young school kids developing some kind of mispla... moreFanboy? i Own a z5c , before that a s5, before that g3 befor that s3, never a iphone though. i did agree that s6 does a better job in some cases, but to say z5 is bad or terrible is just stupid... I love tech and TBH the only thing that made me leve samsung was TW. I do not care as long as they deliver good user experience. The only brand i never will try again is LG, but that is baised on my previus experiences with both phones and other products. Z5 preforms pretty god dam good in many cases and i get tierd of pepole caling it terrible, just beacuse another phone did better.
