AnonD-276592, 14 Nov 2015Galaxy S5 is still the best SD 801 device up to date. This!
In my country, you can get one for 350$ new (not refurbished) but still better then 1+X
Anonymous, 13 Nov 2015you can't make that assumption....amoled is energy efficient technology provided you know how ... moreIt isn't an assumption. Samsung won't sell their best to other companies, so they wind up getting the less efficient ones for their devices. Unless you're looking at a bunch of dark colors, AMOLED will not necessarily be more power frugal than a good LCD
No need of a 64bit soc.
Who cares, snapdragon 801 handles gaming better than snapdragon 615/617 and might even have similar performance to the SD 620 which we haven't seen still.
Atleast future proof for the next 2-3 years.
Good move by one plus.
Hmm... disappointing audio, loudspeaker, camera (M2 Note which is much cheaper, and not in the same price range, have better camera). Which is really important for me. So it only has look.
are those benchmark score real?
Chinese skins are bad at optimization. Take a look at some Chinese's phone. They have a monster 4000-5000mah battery but only to manage around 60-70 hour rating.
You can blame the the oxygen os for poor battery life. I have a OPO, it has a good battery with COS 11s and latest 12.1 nightly but bad battery with oxygen os. Besides, most Chinese skins a
Sony having 3 energy efficient phones based on Snapdragon 801 chipsets, Xperia Z2,Z3,Z3 Compact, with 2,3GB rams and 720P,1080P TFT Led displays. Still one plus cant beat nowhere in talktime, video and browsing times with AMOLED displays . Even on Z3+ with same 6.9mm they could place a 2970mah battery on it.
Not interested with this phone. They better close.
Galaxy S5 is still the best SD 801 device up to date.
Was the web browsing battery test done with a black or white page? Would obviously make a huge difference in battery life with the OLED screen.
if you call it a midrange phone, why would you expect of it having a 64bit chipset?
You can't compare the battery life of video playback or web browsing when the displays aren't at the same brightness ! You should test all the phone at 150 cd/m² for example and not a random "50% brightness".
The OnePlus X has 45% more cd/m² at 50% brightness than the Mi 4c, no wonder there's such a difference !
Hey GSMArena, I hope you guys will be outing the review for Huawei G8 in a few days. Kindly do check properly how is its call quality, mainly on ear piece. And please please check the option whether we can save Apps and Games in SD Card or not? Also, how about overheating issues? Please GSMArena, don't forget my requested queries. I will be waiting for your review
A letdown!
Still waiting for 5x or 6P review!
Redmi Note 2 (and the pro edition), for half the price, all the way! :D

Pathetic battery life for such efficient chipset. The AMOLED should've helped, but as it turns out, most AMOLED screens are actually less efficient than mature LCD technology
Had this device for about 4 days before I returned it.
The animations are choppy. Rotating the screen when the task switcher is on results in poor animation.
Its not smooth even whilst clearing all the notifications from the panel
Subway surfer suffers from lag (this has been discussed in their forum)
Maybe I am knit picking, maybe these are software issues which might be fixed in the future (i updated to oxygen os 2.1.2) but older phones with similar specs performed better (I had access to motox 2nd generation, htc 820c)
I found the design and screen to be awesome and camera to be average.
