dev019, 03 Dec 2015A good phone, with lack of apps.
Can't Microsoft do something about it?
I mean, there's ... moreSeriously man u dnt know hw app development works...
Microsoft is working their a$$ off to close the app gaps between other platforms and windows thats y the Project Islandwood and Astoria is here. Development of apps will be easy.
Nw its upto 3rd party app developers to implement it and create and update apps for windows platform.
Here is my question why did you have to pick lumia 950??? Why didn't you for 950 XL instead???
I should have my Lumia 950 in hand tonight. I cannot wait. The review reinforces my expectation that it is a great phone, albeit with limited apps. Since I generally use fewer than 20 apps and the main ones that I do use are already on it I expect that I will be very happy with it.
I also expect that will further OS tuning, the performance and battery life will improve significantly.
If MS really want to blow it's competitors out of the water, they should combine 1020 with 925, then named it Lumia 1945.
Great.I need this smartphone.I will buy.great features but ms should put metal on this flagship just like the design of lumia 925.
ICE, 03 Dec 2015I'm not surprised.................at all.Oh well...
Btw. Dont get me wrong, I wish windows phones best of luck, they re not doing well, and I always support underdogs
its just...this phone is not inspiring, despite excellent camera
It wont help it grow its userbase

Its very easy to check out all the main players Windows, Android and IOS and see what apps are available. Calling one worse than another based on your own app requirements is just wrong. Windows, Android and IOS all do the basics well.
dev019, 03 Dec 2015A good phone, with lack of apps. Can't Microsoft do something about it? I mean, there's ... moreIts called a 'cease and desist letter' which prevents Microsoft and other app developers from making and publishing apps to the Windows Store without approval of the app service owner. Many examples: Google preventing Microsoft Youtube app in 2013 and off course Snapchats owners doing the same.
The 950/950XL are far from what I was hoping for. I want a 6" phone with physical buttons a la 1520. At least SD 810 with 4GB RAM and 32GB expanable storage. A camera that's at least 1/1.7" with fast focus.
What Microsoft delivered is a good phone at high-end price and not the WOW phone at good price I wanted. This is not enough to make Windows phone a viable alternative to iPhone & Androids in my opinion.

Kyle K., 03 Dec 2015No liquid cooling for the Lumia 950, the review is now updated. Thank you for the input! KyleYou would think they would have new that, since they were reviewing the unit.
Mark, 03 Dec 2015Really, really dissapointing battery life. I really wanted this phone (and aprt from attery li... moreTrue that.
I used the iPhone 6+ to try out the battery for a couple days and
Sadly it has iOS which is a jail.
Switch that for the Galaxy S6 and battery on that is worthless (less mAh than i6+).
Cant wait to test the battery on the 950 XL since it has the highest mAh over the i6+ and S6.
I have been using the 1520 for more an year now and frankly I am not motivated to move to a 950. At least not with that specification. It would require more than SoC and Contnnum to compel 1520 users to upgrade to a 950 or 950XL.
I can swear I read the same SOCs always performed better under Windows Phone 8.1 vs. Android. What's changed? From what I can see Windows 10 lags more than my Nexus 5X running Android 6.0.
