They should have worked better on the sms features, people (including the elderly) in EU use sms all the time. Even the operators need sms to inform their customers about promotions or whatever. Most people call and sms, and this phone is practically limited to calling, Motorola went way too basic!!!
after u have finished playing with all the function offered in top range phones u will eventually get bored but then u will realised the important bits of a phone.
the F3 has the both the important bits and design.
good fone for people elderly folks a sipmle phone.
The last phone i bought was a nokia 6110 9 years ago and still working nicely. i never thought of changing due to the fact that all newer phones are pretty complicated and jammed with features we never use while paying for it. After seeing this phone, i just decided its about time a manufacture thought of users who only need a phone and nothing else. i bought one and its all i wanted, i hope i can keep it for another 9 years
Seems that in Italy several users complain that Motofone automatically sends sms to a UK number. Motorola customer care contacted them and admited the bug..what a bug!...and has provided a firmware update. These are the link :

I have been using its cdma version. However i found the model F3c takes really a long time to recharge itself. Also it get hot after 30 mins of talk.Does it really take 3-4 hours to fully charge its battery?Leme know.
for me i think that this phone is the most simple phone and cheaper coz in algeria it cost between 50$ and 55$ (we find it only in the grey market).
i have this phone for a few months now and its just great, the standby time is super, volume and loud speaker are above par
I also have a SonyEricsson K790i so this is a good second phone for every day in case i get robbed i wount want to lose my k790i.
Only problem is. It deletes sms on its own when sms memory is full and i still have not found a way to forward an sms
its not in the piece of paper i got for an instruction booklet lol
75$ no way i don't think so 75 cents maybe maybe not
Motofone (F3) is available in exclusive outlet (try Mustafa Centre)in Singapore and retails at S$75. Bought it for the stylish designs and found out that its actually very easy to use after getting over the initial confusion on the navigation style the interface is designed. In fact, the functions are so basic and straight-forward thats why one have to get used to it!
Major drawback is the SMS texting, it takes a long time because the display only allows six character at a time and some basic characters (like ! $ % or &)are not able to be displayed and character like # is displayed as H because of the nature of the display system. Otherwise a fashion worthy conversational piece, in every sense of the word.
I disagree that this is the right type of phones for developing countries. People in developing countries aren't stupid, they see what the rest of the world is doing, and they want to be part of it, not relegated to 'special' technology made for their undeserving societies. They will look at this phone's many sortcomings the same as we do, and will pick up an older phone from 5 years ago and get many more features than this phone offers, for cheaper on the black market.
it is a very cheap phone and very basic(?)
is is used only for calling and receiving calls people
not for taking photos
i m goin to get it, it will be a nice second phone just the basic is what i need and esp. the durability of it.
Nice~~
Think this way, Elderly people(60+) needs the basic functions, large fonts. Its really a good phone for them.
Young Generation are too rough about it in their comments. Please thimk about the elders.
This phone sucks..... there's just no better way to say it. For God's sake, it doesn't even have a color display. Every new phone has one. No matter what the price is. And besides, in my opinion, it doesn't even look good. It's just like every other motorola phone. Guys, think of something new won't you?
But hey, that's just my opinion. I'm sure there are people out there who like this phone and want to buy it. But I'm not one of them.
Ciao
if you've studied economics, you'll realise that this phone is actually a good phone =]
pay an extra 10$ and get nokia 1110i or SE J100 if you want a bugdet phone or a side phone it's better than this 1000000 time, what was they thinking when they made this display it's not even black&white it's like a cheap 80's gameboy or worse i bought nokia 1110i for 35$ and it's brandnew it plays AMR and got 4MB int mem the display is great the battery life is outstanding it last for 5 dayz i even saw the SE J100 it's even better than the 1110i color display long life battery cheap price about 40$ in my country
It's very cheap ... it's very good as a secondary phone ... beside my x820 ...
I think this is one of the best phones ever. I already own an E-ten X500 and I was looking for a basic phone. F3 is the best. Signal is very good. I can hear the other person very clear and he hears me also very well. Not to mentions that is very slim an light.
If all you need is a phone... this is IT
