Good but not available for all the phone
I really like the idea of these time saver review but would like to have more camera samples and also antutu benchmarks
About the scores- Well I find confusing to give some scores in percentage and some in stars. Please stick to one format. And yeah I think there should be no score for display size, instead of it give score on screen-to-body ratio which would make more sense.
Otherwise the whole idea is great.
I would argue that the rating system seems to give equal weight and importance to each category - your iPhone 6s and Lumia 950XL reviews both score 4/5, with the Lumia scoring badly on the software and design, but highly on screen and video, and the Apple scoring badly on battery life, but highly on software, performance and 'coolness'. I would argue that software and performance is vastly more important than the video camera, for example, as with buggy software (which Windows 10 Mobile most assuredly is) can ruin a phone. I think that to give the Lumia the same score as the 6S indicates that to a potential buyer, both phones offer up a similarly great experience, and that is just not the case. I know that the category scores for each differ, but that's the problem with an overall mark - people just look at that and make an opinion. The thing about your reviews has always been the lack of a subjective mark out of ten - the reader reads the reviews and draws their opinion based on what they see detailed within, and what they themselves require out of a phone.
Also, 'coolness' is such a subjective term as to be utterly useless - it really should not carry the same importance (as is perceived) as screen quality, software or performance. I'm guessing it's linked to the fashion-imagery of the phone, but what looks like the height of 'coolness' to one person might be complete anathema to the next.
very good experiment but I like to check review in detail not in short cut mode, coz we spend 50k rs for high end mobile phones.
too short. We want Wifi speed test, storage(internal and MicroSD) test, usb speed test. And don't compare Android benchmark with iOs or Windows Phone and vice versa.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Thats not gonna stop us from not reading anything and go straight to the comments section to complain. So please dont discontinue the regular review format even though you say you're not abandoning the regular format.
I dont care. I didn't read it. MUAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Very disappointing. Didn't read 5/10
The long reviews with lots of detail , specially in camera and audio sections is what makes your website special. Please don't change that though ....
Keep up the good work as always :)
a nice way to present reviews to phone buyers. good work. the rating system would be more efficient if the stars were given out of 10.
Please make these shortened reviews as the permanent replacement for the old format. We all don't have the time to be looking at redundant analysis of each and every one of the phone's functionalities. And its also very difficult to take all that information in. Please remove the old review format.
This New Reviews Are Too Short And Lacks Information.Pls Don't Kill The Old Review Method.I Visit This Site Every Week Just For The Old Reviews.
Its a fast paced world and the Crisp reviews cater to the major audiences who lack in depth knowledge as compared to tech enthusiasts and seek to the point reviews. Being a fan of gsmarena for years I think its a step in the right direction. But I have found your scoring to be biased as every other site...For Eg. You say display of Moto X Play is excellent and then go and rate it 2.5 and similarly for its battery life. These two features are the USP of the phone. Please review your rating system first.
I think this shorter review format is awesome. If people who doesn't have much knowledge on Mobile devices and just want to know the key aspects of the phone, they use this. I would ask you continue the longer review as well
This type of reviews is great for a wrap up all around information, Thank you guys for your hard work.
Now a good suggestion is to lay these numbers out through Googles's search webpage, and make us see those results from within the search page, and you be will winners.
Chart infos are comparable and will not out dated by the time but these percentage infos are just for the time being. The benchmark charts should have stayed.
- Do you find them too short or too long? Just perfect, keeping it simple with some notable points
- Do you understand the percentile ranks and their visualizations? Not really understood, need more time to learn this feature
- Do you like this format better than the regular multi-page reviews? Of course YES... All I need just scrolling down
- How do you feel about our scored and do you find them meaningful? It's all coming back to every readers since they had their own judgement
I think giving marks is a big mistake. It's something very subjective that changes from person to person. Let the people decide for themselves. I've seen other sites that gives marks and all the comments are about "how did you gave this phone X points, but only Y points for that other phone?", not to mention the "X company is paying for this review", drowning the rest of the comments. Not that this isnt full of fanboys and trolls (no offense intended, :P), but they are usually more interesting than that.
Loved the new review & rating system. proud of you guys you are still the best as I am using GSMarena since 2007 and I cant believe how much you have achieved now.
Very nice
Great for a quick review. But DON'T kill the full fledged review which you guys have always done.
Ivo, 11 Mar 2016Absolutely against short reviews! I would actually want to know as much as possible about a ph... morethere's long review for that.. you like long reviews, so do I, but reading all those stuff about every phone isn't ideal for many, so the format.. if you don't like it, don't read it, and opt for the longer one. i don't understand why the offend?
