Blunder, 15 Mar 2016The iPhone is better at single core testes because they do not focus on multitasking. Its 2016... moreOn single core the iDevices bench high due to the strong capability of their cores.
IDevices DO multitask, and do so very well with iOS 9.2 onwards.

Unfortunately for Android, the OS may not make use of all the cores in these devices.

Where iOS shines is in the hardware utilisation. Remember this is a company that designs BOTH hardware and software. (Yes, they customise their system on chip (SoC) to do very specific things).
I wouldn't call the A9 or A9X a dual core though. They did drop a core from their previous generation, but then they moved the M9 motion controller on chip. This makes the device perform in similar ways as some Android setups where music can be relegated to a 'low power' core, or the 'OK Google' feature can remain in an active state without ripping through battery life.

Number of Cores and multitasking are related, but we cannot count the cores and assume multitasking efficiency.

It is true that the average Android developer can assume the target audience will have at least four cores. Unfortunately they have no idea of the nature of these cores, as the Exynos way of doing things is quite different to the Qualcomm way of doing things.

For that reason; if I was buying a Samsung phone, I would opt for theExynos variant, as, quite likely, this is the one they are optimising THEIR software for...

Food for thought, ay?!

    Seems pretty clear cut to me, if you want to play games you want the S820 version, if you aren't interested in games then you probably aren't going to notice any difference between them in real world applications.

      How can these numbers be justified and be near phones like iPhone, while having the latest and greatest? No need to mention that Sami makes chips for iPhone!!!

        "...The Quad HD resolution takes its toll on the onscreen test - the Xiaomi Mi 5 does a lot better, yet the Galaxy S7 edge doubles the S6 edge's score....."

        Yeah double the ridiculous low score of the S6... a still ridiculous 15fps. Onscreen score should be 30fps no matter what you do. These QHD are a serious problem when you want to play a decent game. Imagine what a ridiculous frame-rate you can expect in VR!!!

        Manufacturers URGENTLY need to use their few functioning brain-cells. It's stupid to increase CPU and GPU performance and then waste it on ridiculous high screen-resolutions. Especially when the difference is negligible with regards to sharpness but has a huge impact on frame-rates.

                        I wonder why nobody noticed that Samsung has TWO DIFFERENT CAMERA SENSORS (CAMERAGATE) in S7/S7 Edge. One made by Sony and the other is Samsung inhouse. Google it. I am disappointed why they don't go honest about it.

                                      Guys, I bought this phone on Sunday. Had S5 and S2 before. If with S2 I had problems and lag and this year it died and the S5 still being a great phone and has quite some features which I miss the S7 Edge it's just AMAZING!

                                      + looks, power, everything opens in a fraction of a second, battery lasts more than one day, perfect screen, night mode and adapt on mode, beautiful pictures;
                                      - missing some functions from S5 which I would have wanted (IR blast, DLNA, detachable battery), hard to find some things and apps and need to research on internet and search in the phone to find them, better audio levels

                                        Why don't you change the area you use for camera testing,with something more colourful,with flowers,statues.fountains etc?This road and the gas station doesn't say anything about the camera's quality.
