Anonymous, 23 Mar 2016i have iphone 6s plus and i dont have any issues what you mention here.......No, but the lag from the 3X scaling and then downscaling to 2.6X (1080p) makes the plus variant blow.

Apple: way overpriced for even the 16gb model but a $200 price bump for only 112gb which hasn't reduced in the 3-4 years its been offered is criminal.
Samsung: always the best specs apart from the camera for about 2 weeks until LG, HTC, HUAWII, SONY, MOTOROLA... Etc, etc. Match them 1 way or another, yet the Galaxy & Note models remain $150 minimum above competitors price.
Both r always overpriced only for the sake of name & relevance. I cant wait for the Chinese brands to crush them in the next 5 years, they both deserve it.

I got the S7 Edge a few days ago and also have an iPhone 6+ to compare it to.

For low light shots, the S7 is noticeably better than both the iPhone and the Note 5.

For daylight shots, especially in high contrast environments with sun and shadows, the iPhone is noticeably better balanced.

The S7 Edge overprocesses, the colors are oversaturated and yellowish and the dynamic range is as bad as it was on the S5. A big step backwards from the Note 5, which I think is the best balanced Samsung currently.

I'll get rid of the S7 Edge as soon as I find something that matches its low light capabilities, without screwing up the dynamic range. Eagerly waiting for either the Huawei P9 or the iPhone 7.

Hm wonder what the S7/S7edge owners are saying about their new phones.
        Here some feedbacks:
1.Bluetooth connectivity issues, also bluetooth low energy is always on eating your battery.
2.The adoptable storage is not available for S7 (that means you cant install apps on your sd cards unless you root your s7)
3.Overheating (Mongoose) there is some serious SoC throttling.(check 3DMark SlingShot tests)
4.Screen is oversensitive you can't pick the phone without launching the camera.Edge screen is not rejecting you fingers when you are just holding it.
5.Last but not least the lag is still there no matter how fast the phone is on the benchmarks.

Solid comparision . Good to see s7 destroy iphone in every single aspect. Best display, best camera, water proofing , sd card 200 gb storage, gear vr, wirelesscharging, samsung pay, better audio quality, better battey life, edge display.
And this is why samsung will always be number the 1 smartphone maker. They understand what the customer needs. Not releasing the same 16 gb phone again and again.

I'll try and spell it out without being too insulting. It's an OS preference. Some people genuinely prefer one OS over another. Therefore they will purchase that phone! They are not bothered about "features" if the OS itself is not to their liking.

Ios has never had supremely advanced compared to all coding whole android was never just a jumble up crud.

All revenge exaggerations for either. Limited does not equal optimized. It was a little more optimized on SOME things. That's it

Time, 26 Mar 2016If you buy the samsung you can see the high specifications on the paper but performance wise ... moreReally? Meanwhile s4 will being m even.
                            Nice try.
And who cares if it takes you a little longer to get the update when what you have is already more advanced out of box than the update you will be being from ios in the future.

With android, especially high end samsung, there are more features and security to work through. And they have to wait on Google and carriers first before you get it.

Worth ios they are just minor changes more just for the sake of the update.
And yet somehow even though they are supposedly so perfect lightweight and optimized never fox their dramatic world lead in app crashes, couple year old models are not eligible for full updates, and they make older devices lag worse

I've seen so many iPhone 6's it's crazy and none of them lagged. If you love android that's fine. I don't really care but saying you and your mates iPhones are laggy is just complete rubbish!

Samsung s7 is overpriced and bad value for your money. In my country it costs as much as an iPhone 6s. But whereas Apple offers a lot of apps for free and iPhone exclusive services the s7 gives you just bloatware and the usual Google package.

                                * Free apps by Apple: pages, keynote, numbers, iMovie etc. with those apps it is possible to create anything from brochures to presentations, editing movies, sounds, spreadsheets etc. Samsung gives you low quality apps and one needs to spend more money to get equivalent apps like those above, if there are any good equivalents. That's the number one reason for me to keep buying the iPhone because I need those apps for my work and I can't find any good alternative in android OS. (Don't mentione Microsoft apps because a) need paid subscription b) not so good as Apple apps c) you can get all Microsoft apps on the iPhone, too)
                                * Samsung relies fully on Google apps but those apps are not exclusive to s7. Every android phone have them. All Google apps exist on the iPhone, too. Moreover, the iPhone has its own equivalent to Google apps, that are only exclusive to the iPhone like Siri, maps, iCloud, Safari, that add more choice.
                                * The iOS gets timely updates for a number of years. Because it is little fragmented it is a lot easier for app developers to offer updates that kill bugs and optimize them. Samsung always struggles to keep up with updates and makes it hard for developers to push updates. Maybe that's the reason why the iPhone has better quality of apps.
                                * Despite all the efforts by Samsung the iOS still remains the smoothest OS.

If I can afford $800 for an s7 I think for all the reasons above I'll be better off with an iPhone that costs as much. If I can't afford it I'll be better off with a 300 dollar Chinese phone. I'll still be able to get the same OS, same Google package of apps, as many updates as s7 and I wouldn't complain as much if it lags because it's only $300. I would definitely feel stupid to spend $800 and not to get updates or lagging.

It's not a coincidence that the iPhone obliterates the competition at the top range part of the market. Lack of differentiation from the other mid range android phones make top end android phones feeling too banal and boring against the iPhone.

If you buy the samsung you can see the high specifications on the paper but performance wise its little bit lower with IOS. The important thing is you never get the next update easily. For andriod N you have wait for couples of months and I'm very sure that will be your last update.

Go for apple which is descent in every aspects and finally you get update on that day itself for atleast 3 to 4 years. Its more reliable then anything.

Hardware comparison would make the Samsung, and LG, and Sony, HTC etc etc win every time in terms of the internal specs. Outer casing, fit and finish etc - I guess depends on the model - but all of that is useless without decent software (in my opinion). But there is no section for a comparison of the software. GSMArena should do this and future comparisons and reviews with a software section. I often find with Android, everything works smooth in the first week or two, but then it gets laggy. Not so with iOS and Windows Phone. I would love for that not to be the case but there it is!

If you have a Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge do not break it, because according to ifixit (teardown),
it is the hardest smartphones to repair and nearly impossible to replace the screen, USB port, microphone, and soft button LEDs.
