I really don't understand Sony's strategy. I've loved the company since I was a kid and they were the Apple of the 90s and early 2000s. Whatever happened to their creativity? Most of their current gadgets (PS4 and PS VR arguably being the exceptions) are unimaginative and boring imho. I mean, for god's sake... they make the camera sensors. How hard is it to properly code them so that they perform as intended? And the blatant lack of OIS across their flagships. What were they thinking?

Given that 4K video recording on Xperia smartphones is managed by a "Standalone" (add-on) app, I would assume that this feature will be included in the official release.

I don't see how this phone wouldn't offer 4K, specially since it isn't a reason to cannibalize the X Performance share...

Currently I have a broken Z3 Compact and I am patiently waiting to see if I should repair/ get another Z3C or / go all out for the upcoming X Performance...

We'll see.
