Nabil12, 24 Jun 2016Because j7(2016) has an octa core processor where the redmi note 3 is rocking a hexa core processor.Dude its still a72 vs a53
T.K.A.(off-site), 28 Jun 2016I agree about VR still being in its fledgling phase.

Using 1440p for the sole purpose of vr is silly when vr is such a small niche, and not doing so is hardly 'justifying cost cutting'. I don't know why you're expecting a budget flagship to superfluously push the boundaries of technology anyway. The whole point is to offer what matters at a competitive price, not bring in things like iris scanner or edged screens or whatever
I still think they should have used 1440p but I don't blame them for not making mass market decisions for niches like vr.

But what I take offence to, is the co... moreIt's a beautiful AMOLED full HD display with flagship standard performance. I was never a fan of this phone but after using it for the last 2 weeks or so,i can safely say, it's a great experience using this phone. They didn't want to give a phone with just top notch specs but a phone that gives you an experience. I was a Samsung flagship user all these years and my initial impression of Oneplus 3 is, It's a great phone-over all. Period.

But what I take offence to, is the company completely drubbing off smartphone based VR rigs, only for the sake of covering their ass after taking poor executive decisions. It would have been better if they had refrained from commenting on VR rather than bash it only to (try and) deflect the attention away from the poor screens on the OnePlus 3.
They should actually be encouraging any upcoming techs, VR or otherwise. I, myself, have been working on creating VR content for widespread usage, ie not limited to expensive dedicated VR gear, and the entire genre still needs more time and R&D on all fronts to hit its potential (if it ever does...). But I dont appreciate OEMs or Corporate suits just writing it off, solely to (try and) justify their cost cutting decisions on their 'flagship killer' devices. Display screens are a crucial part of any smartphone, and it's mind boggling that OnePlus took the decision to included this one in their breadwinner for 2016.
But good luck to whoever purchased this device. It wasnt for me, but may it come to your use.
T.K.A., 27 Jun 2016I would have been posting this comment from a OnePlus 3 device, if it wasnt for their garbage ... moreVr won't be anywhere close to mainstream in the next few years. It's fine for a budget flagship to ignore it. Phones aren't even good enough yet anyway, that's why barely any phone is even compatible with vr, and you have to remember that just being compatible won't make it a decent experience.
I still think they should have went with 1440p if they were using pentile, but I totally agree with ignoring vr for now.
I am not against a 1080p screen, but 1080p at 5.5 inches is, a little, pushing it. They could have had it at a better horizontal length, 1200x1920. Or perhaps because the phone is so tall, 1080x2150? Yes the AMOLED screen is going to be beautiful, no doubt, but will it still be comparable to an 1080p 5-incher(or even S7/6 at a foot length away), or will pixels be noticeable. All in all, the combination of the Snapdragon 820 with a beautiful 6 gb's of ram is something that I have been wishing apon every star for! But personally due to one handed use constantly, the 152.7 x 74.7 dimensions of this phone are too big! They might make a smaller version, but it most likely will not have the 6 gb's of ram and/or the snapdragon 820 processor. The OnePlus X had a full 1080p screen on a 5.0 inch screen, which means if a mini is ever created it will, most likely, have a full HD screen. Can't wait to get my hands on this super computer-like phone though! I do have to admit all the power in it, and only having to push 1080x1920 pixels, this phone better withstand so much! Great job OnePlus, I applaud you for this monumental success! Also with a crucial 8-megapixel camera on the front! A slight downside to only a 3,000 mAh battery, but pushing a mere 1080p should have much better effect on battery life. The 3 is slimmer then the 3,000 mAh S7, but not as slim as the 2550 mAh S6.
Isn't a REALLY big MAIN feature the phone's SIX GIGABITS OF RAM? It was not listed as such..
I would have been posting this comment from a OnePlus 3 device, if it wasnt for their garbage screen choice. It had almost everything I was looking for in a phone, but the screen is something that puts the entire device in the garbage bin category for me.
What takes the cake is OnePlus' comments on the current mobile-VR trend (as also reported by this site). Who are they to insinuate that people shouldnt stick a google cardboard on their head to experience simple VR? Are they trying to say that Samsung wasted all the time and resources on Gear VR's R&D for shits and giggles? Has the peon who wrote that memo even tried on google cardboard to know what he is talking about? Not everyone is rich, stupid or both to plonk big money on Rifts, Vives, etc. This just reeks of arrogance and defensive fire to play down their horrible decision to use pentile LQ screens.
Oh well, no skin off my nose. I will just wait to purchase the better devices rather than this DOA product.
Actually it's worth waiting a few months for the price of the s7 to come down. Already you can have a good second hand s6 for £250 so in a few months time the s7 will be down in price. Cex is offering 24month warranty on its smartphones too so a second hand galaxy is more tempting than ever. I've also heard that the one plus three has had performance issues despite its 6gb ram. While its labelled as a flagship killer it isn't a flagship, it's just a phone for disgruntled nexus owners or for people who can't quite afford a true flagship.
Anonymous, 25 Jun 2016My friends phone went from 0-68% in 30 minutes charge nothing wrong with this review I didnt mention about the charging...I had mentioned about the battery endurance :)
babakmansouri, 27 Jun 2016not bad. i have p8 max with 4360mah battery but my op3 lasts like p8 max so the battery is greatits all about optimization of the SoC. many companies are putting 4000mah+ batteries in their mid rangers but not optimizing the power usage on purpose. OP3 has almost similar specs as S7 or mi5 yet it can't compete in the battery department. battery is 3000mah for all the three phones.

Oppo F1 plus is not at all worthy to go for. It has some serious technical issues which makes it a bad choice for so high price. The major issues are whatsapp not working properly, emails take lot of time to deliver, frequent call drops, camera quality not upto mark. Even service centre was unable to resolve.
Nasser, 26 Jun 2016So bad, seriously speaking. Well, let me explain you something guys, for the variety of androi... morewell dear s7 edge is really expensive and mi5 is not as good as op3 and plus that op3 is cheaper than samsung phones so if you dont have enough money to pay for s7 edge you can go for op3 and one nore thing if i was you i would go for lg v10 which is far better than s7 edge and is more stuylish
