I purchased the OnePlus 3 when it released and my friend got his LeEco Max 2 when he had gone to China.
Anyways, coming to the similarities and differences.
Similarities :
• Internal specifications
• Quality of build maybe be better on the OnePlus 3 or or par.
Differences :
• Camera hardware. The OnePlus 3 uses a 16MP sensor compared to the Sony 21MP sensor found on the LeEco Max 2.
• General software experience.
Some people like stock android & some people don't.
It's completely depends on you and you alone. And I got the OnePlus cause it's my cup of tea. I like the stock feeling of android.
We both use these as our secondary devices btw cause we have the iPhone 6S Plus as our daily drivers. And I must say I am pretty impressed.
Last year we used a S6 for the reasons that can't be explained here.
But these phones, the do their job well and I must say, you wouldn't really go wrong with either one. Especially considering the price.

OnePlus 3 is nice but just too big as a regular phone...
4.7-5.2" is optimal....

Not sure if the Mi 5 has a better camera for stills, but the video performance likely is better

AnonD-556527, 04 Jul 2016Op3 vs le eco max 2 ...which is better to buyOP3 has better software than Le Max 2. You'll get a clean near-stock UI and faster updates. Plus Le Max 2 display is 5.7" QHD with 3000mAh battery while 1+3 has 3000mAh with 5.5" Full-HD screen, so you'll get better battery life.
