prasad-gsma, 28 Sep 2016The ZenFone 2 supported Qualcomm QuickCharge 2.0. The ZenFone 3 does not. hmm thats a rather unfavourable way to go at it...maybe they reserved it for the max version?
AnonD-292864, 26 Sep 2016Official Asus site says Zenfone 3 Ze552kl has fast charging. It supports 5V 2A charging, which is also mentioned on the website. That is not fast charging. The device was tested with multiple other chargers and 5V 2A is the best it can do. The rate of charging is not consistent with other fast charging standards because IT IS NOT TRUE FAST CHARGING.
AnonD-292864, 27 Sep 2016It is not even released in most countries yet. I think it is only released in 3-5 countries. But many previews(writtens and videos) is out months ago, as well as the AP sets are all over the markets. GSMarena should have able to produce a full review.
Unfortunately the price has been greatly inflated by the local distributor in Malaysia and from what iIgather also in Singapore and India.
Otherwise, a good effort from Asus soiled by the greedy local distributor.

Asus still struggling to compete with Huawei, Xiaomi, Motorola, LG and Sony.
Come to smartphone, Asus is a New kid on the block. Asus still lagging behind Android flagship like Galaxy S7/Note7, OnePlus3, Oppo F1Plus...

Anonymous, 27 Sep 2016A preview is not acceptable since this phone has came out long long time ago. It is not even released in most countries yet. I think it is only released in 3-5 countries.
gab, 27 Sep 2016its a preview not a review. learn how to read.A preview is not acceptable since this phone has came out long long time ago.
I was eagerly expecting Asus's ZF3 since the May announcement. The months passed by but no product was in sight. When they first became available in some markets, the pricing was as absurd and nothing like they said when first announced.
I loved my ZF2, which I bought for $300 for the 4GB/64GB version, and it is a great phone (had to give it to my wife as her phone died), and was looking for a replacement.
ZF3's specs were not so exciting, but at the right price could be a great phone. Well, I got tired of waiting and was not willing to pay the absurd amount Asus is asking.
I ordered a Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Special Edition like 2 weeks ago, a much better deal at $180 with shipping to the US for the 3GB/32GB.
AnonD-196292, 27 Sep 2016So the new Zenfone3, an upper midrange device supports 60 fps 1080p video recording and but th... moreYeah, you can probably find a LG G5 for the same price this one goes for. If only just a little more. I mean the G5 is about $400 right? So is the Zenfone 3, almost.
So the new Zenfone3, an upper midrange device supports 60 fps 1080p video recording and but the $650+ HTC 10, LG G5 don't utilizing one of the most powerful chips on the market?...explain?
timmy, 27 Sep 2016quite a lot actually. the screen is on when you watch movies, right? also when you browse. gsm... morenot many phones do that. 6 hour SOT is one of the best. Most phones will give 4-5 hours of SOT. Yes, GSMA does give web browsing, video etc but that is not the best indicator of SOT.
Akalp, 27 Sep 2016How many phones give 6 hours screen on time.quite a lot actually. the screen is on when you watch movies, right? also when you browse. gsmarena has tests based on how long you can browse and watch movies, and 6 hours is really quite on the low end.
What is this? Half ass review after waiting so many weeks???
GSMarena you better just complete it before bring up this review.
the reason these companies cant rise... 25 models... :-p
confusing the customers...
