zonda, 04 Oct 2016No OIS on Pixel/XL? unfortunately yes, based on the specification given. if they can compete their EIS with Xperia SteadyShot i might give it a shot. lets wait for the review
with Oneplus 3 around the pixel has no hope !
Who would pay the same price of S7 Edge / Iphone 7 , for this ?
impressive very very impressive, i would love to own Pixel XL
The spec.s sound pretty good (battery life could be better but the fast charge might help) and the un-skinned Android might make for a great user experience, but it looks so... I dunno, "plain"? "Boring"? "iClone"? Massive bezels, that weird glass fingerprint catcher on the back. If they had put all the technology into a package as striking as, say, the HTC One was when that first appeared, I'm sure they'd have a winner, but right now it's not making me want to rush out and upgrade.
google u r forcing me to buy pixel....
2016 is a year of stupidity for those major phone companies
Iphone 7 (same shit but with better specs, removal of jack and still pathetic battery)
Samsung note 7 (EXPLOSION!)
Xperia XZ (late to the party yet so expensive)
Asus Zenfone Deluxe and Ultra (too expensive for its brand, although the spec is decent)
and now this Google Pixel (trying to be iphone, shitty design, thick chin bezels and yet charged so expensive, as if Nexus was not already expensive.)
(they really think customers are stupid and will buy their products blindly because they are famous)
But other phone companies did well:
Huawei - P8, Honor 8
Vivo - V3max
Xiaomi - Mi 5s, Redmi note 4, Redmi Pro, Mi Max
Alcatel Idol 4s
ZTE Axon 7
(this list is not conclusive)
These companies did not ignore what we are looking for in a smartphone.
Wish google phones will be more affordable....
super boring design.
AnonD-504210, 05 Oct 2016But then samsung beat the crap out of htc for quality of photo. Dxomark is full of bsi just used the phone and compared it to the Samsung s7 edge and the pixle was abit sharper and cleaner looking photo wise
And why is the CPU clocked at the same speed as 820???
What people don't get is the IP ratings don't really hold up in real life. I had to return two S7s because immersing them in water fried the charging port. And Sony had endless troubles when they failed to warranty their phones for water damage for the same reason.
People talk about bezels. What gets lost in that talk is the edge screen on newer samsungs are extremely fragile, and gorrilla glass doesn't make a bit of difference. I returned my Note 7 not because of the battery saga, but because I got tired of carrying around a fragile piece of jewelry. I don't need my phone to be jewelry, and I don't need it to be made of glass.
AnonD-409174, 05 Oct 2016It is not HTC. HTC has nothing to do with the design. They just manufacture the phone.Yes HTC is only manufacturer of devices.
With this it can be a hint that HTC will be owned by Google, sooner or later.
I am waiting for software reviews.
AnonD-507364, 05 Oct 2016And yet it score the highest dxomark of 89 beating crappy Samsung's camera.
HTC always good ... moreSorry but the HTC cameras are rub bish.
Just check out the HTC10 vs GN7 comparison (good or low light)... The GN7 wins hands down.
I'm surprised at the very iphone'esk looks, you could mistake it for and iPhone 5/s. Google assistant makes it interesting but nothing more with such a steep price tag. I'll wait for assistant to arrive on my preferred device.
Anonymous, 05 Oct 2016HTC ruined it again! look at that thickness but small battery? camera is still 2.0 aperture? H... moreIt is not HTC. HTC has nothing to do with the design. They just manufacture the phone.

HTC always good in camera department just like the HTC 10
They got rid of Google Now On Tap? I loved that feature! I couldn't care less about another way to bring up voice search, we're up to three now.
I like many Google products, but the Pixel phones are fugly
