Shuts off randomly at between 12 and 25% battery leavin... moreJust to add - the phone worked like a rockstar for one and a half years but after that, the issues mentioned in the comments above couldn't get resolved even with a factory reset.
The phone would shut off at less than 25% battery even if, say, just YouTube is opened. Maps would run super slow.
It didn't seem like a 4GB RAM at all.
Got stranded at airports twice when the phone shut off at 25% battery after I had booked a cab. And the phone wouldn't restart unless the charger was plugged in.
And after all care was exercised to ensure that the phone wasn't even at 10% of its storage capacity.
The phone was a pretty expensive purchase and has disappointed big time.
ZTE - you've lost a customer.

ZTE AXON7 sound is super. But the screen is a big problem. The SCREEN is a big issue.It keeps having problem. What value is a phone when half of the screen is always blank. The phone does not have second hand value. Did not enjoy the phone for more than a month.

i have zte a2017 which seems to be having chinese operating system. is there any possibility i can convert this to english?
also i cannot install whats app as the zte market is not showing whats app anymore?

Hello guys, i need your suggestion. i've been wanting this phone from last year. and now i got the chance to buy the phone while travelling to HK, the price is around $300 and maybe could still get lower(if i could i would like to get the 6gb ram version) . Should i get the axon 7 while i can or.. wait for mi 6 that won't be come sooner to my country? i'll be back to Indonesia until this friday.

I am typing this from my new Axon 7. The phone had pretty rough start due to immature software at launch. Most of the issues are fixed now. I must also say that my phone is way louder than what you got in your tests. The reason is that European version had turned down max volume on headphones for some reason. This restriction was removed with Android 7.0 update. Now the phone is loud enough at 70% on my 65 ohm headphones.
I gotta still check out low light photos but camera leaves a very good impression on me. There were also some fixes for fingerprint reader, which works now in 90 % of uses on my first day of having this phone.
This phone presents a really good value,

But if you are trying to compare hardware in an objective way then the human ear is a crappy measurement tool. So many people may like how the Axon 7 sounds and that doesn't mean it has a perfect frequency response. Most people prefer hearing their music slightly modified from a flat frequency response. There are many reasons for it. But the only 100% way to be certain if you like how an audio player/speaker combination sounds is to listen to it for yourself. Now if you find someone who has similar taste in equipment then you can get reasonably good recommendations from them. If you have an Axon 7 and like it then just enjoy it. But if you care about having a perfectly flat frequency response then maybe you should keep searching. I am sure it sounds good and unless you are really picky you probably wouldn't notice the difference. There are few people on the planet that probably could.

I have the Axon 7, several stand alone music players, and out-board DACs. This phone beats them all. Instrument separation is incrediable. I've done back to back comparisons and there is no doubt about the results. I could use its output as a source for my main system and be happy.
