It has 4 cores Cortex A73 and a octo core gpu Mali-G71..
The G-71 is a good GPU.
but as usual Huawei puts in very few cores for the GPU thereby making the overall graphic performance mediocre.
AnonD-588313, 15 Nov 2016No, try have a look at Huawei Note 8, its the beast, I have it...You mean Huawei Honor Note 8 ??
AnonD-588313, 15 Nov 2016No, try have a look at Huawei Note 8, its the beast, I have it...That's not even pocket-able. It is just too big to fit in an ordinary pocket.
I am a fan of big phones. The Mate 9 could have been a killer phone if Huawei had given it a QHD IPS or Amoled screen similar to Nexus 6P which was produced by Huawei. I was previously a Mate 7 owner and nothing has changed in this respect. A disappointment!
Also the performance of the camera in low light conditions compared to other flagship phones like Galaxy S7 edge for example does not entirely convince me. Almost all flagship phones nowadays make brilliant photos during the day but as we also take lots of photos indoors, this is an important factor. Well, if you can live with that, then it is of course a great phone.
Please do a comparison between this and the v20, I'm so for the wide camera of the v20, that's the only thing I really want from it
Anonymous, 15 Nov 2016Best looking phone this year. No, try have a look at Huawei Note 8, its the beast, I have it...
The story of all those Chinese copycat UI skins is simple:
- Meizu copied iOS in the Windows CE era, with mixed result.
- MIUI copied iOS in the Android 2.x era, and succeeded.
- Everybody starts to copy MIUI and iOS, and Chinese users loved it.
(with blessings of the Great Fire Wall, Google services, stock Android, and pretty much every Android skin of international brands win little love from Chinese customers)
- Now everybody is copying each other and iOS, a great melting pot.
--- An Android skin developer in China.
AnonD-587428, 15 Nov 2016MIUI is since 2010 and has Google's Hugo Bara leading it. Just search "Hugo Bara MIUI" on yout... moreHugo copied the top brands and made MIUI .
Which is nothing special.
Huge amount of MIUI interface is complete copy of other brands .
No brands has themes named after other brands like xperia theme, ios theme, galaxy theme .
But its all available in official MIUI theme store .
Even you will find EMUI themes there .
MIUI is junk with no uniqueness. Only a house of copied elements.
Regal, 15 Nov 2016Before that MIUI copied them . Opening the MIUI theme store you'll find copied themes of Sams... moreMIUI is since 2010 and has Google's Hugo Bara leading it. Just search "Hugo Bara MIUI" on youtube, the whole "emotion" thing is Hugo's idea. EMUI1 came out in 2013 and basically it looked like a lot of print screens from MIUI right up until EMUI4. EMUI5 is the most different but still has print screens in many elements. Don't be fooled buy Superman showing off the Leica lenses. Superman is just a normal guy and the Leica deal is just to carry the Leica logo while thy pass off Chinese lenses. Beneath all this advertising is just an average phone at extraordinary prices.
I was expecting a triple digit battery life rating.
Oh well, just goes to show in general Chinese phones are still one step behind the big players.
Waiting for the Mi Note 2 review to prove me wrong...
Regal, 15 Nov 2016Before that MIUI copied them . Opening the MIUI theme store you'll find copied themes of Sams... moreMost of Themes aren't made by mi themselves. They are made by theme designers and hobbyists. By the way there is a difference between a feature and a theme
why the camera is on par with P9 ? Just buy P9 and save 200$ (170eur)
what is it with the battery testing procedure GSMArena?
was the phone tested differently??
now it is 82h endurance, if I use my phone with automatic brightness, will this be different?
honestly, I was looking for 102h endurance rating and maybe more.. I don't care about calls, all I want: web browsing and video playback!!!
I hope my waiting for this phone does not go to waste. But I need an explanation for this low rating
Short and quick conclusions:
-Audio quality & battery life is worse but camera is better than Mate 8.
-Camera is better than iPhone 7 but worse than V20 (which has the same camera as LG G5)
If this model shares the same camera with P9+, P9+also has AMOLED and has an advantage.
SO, decision comes to the price of Mate 9. But it has many competitors at that price. It is difficult to directly upgrade to Mate 9. It is not such an ultra spec smartphone. I am dissappointed.
So battery life is worse than a S7 Edge which has a smaller battery and a higher resolution screen? Im guessing on the Mate 9 Porsche and Pro versions it be even worse with thier QHD screens? Plus soon with Samsungs new UI coming out with Android N for S7 edge you can drop the resolution to 1080p and get even better results.
I'm no huawei fan. Never was and probably never will be. But the best phone they've objectively ever put out is the nexus 6p followed by the mate 8. I'd take the mate 8 over this one easily. I don't know what they did to make its battery life significantly inferior to the mate 8.
