You can barely see the difference, the PPI on both is insane. To make a better use of the screen size Xiaomi must lower the DPI, increasing the PPI would do almost nothing...
Thankfully Android works equally well in many DPIs
mir, 02 Dec 2016After the novelty of the screen wears off. You are left with a pretty average phone.Thankfully it never does. It's the thing you use the most and screen size makes absolute wonders. After using this phone everything else seemed puny by comparison and it can still fit in most of my pockets...
It's like saying "after the novelty of comfort and speed fades on your BMW , you will see that it is an average car". Well actually no, it makes all other cars seem average by comparison.
Screen in 90% of what you use on a phone , how can its novelty ever wear off. Are someof you people even think before posting? The above post made absolutely no sense.
hb666, 02 Dec 2016Totally agreeYeah both killing of the battery hatch was so practical. Oh and I love the giant bezels of Motorola of late. It allows me to have a tiny screen in the footprint of a giant phone. Innovative all around... see there is a reason why those two companies went down, and one of them was exactly how resistant to change they were...

Lol, Xiaomi along with Apple are the champs in support. My Mi2s is still getting updates and it's 4 years old.
No Google, Samsung or Sony phone ever got so much support, you got it backwards. I never buy western brands *because of* their shoddy support (2 years max).
Anonymous, 02 Dec 2016too heavy, next pls.And that's why there are a ton of smartphones everywhere, so you can choose from them. This beast is not meant for everyone!
Xiomi Mi 6 MIX concept with 100% display. Check it out.
They should use premium camera and put it to bottom, also use 4k screen. That would be ideal specs for such limited availability. Just why is everyone missing this oportunity to out premium phablet now...? (not counting lg as v20 is not avail. in all countries)
I´m waiting the review of the MI NOTE 2, could be better than this Mi MiX, i hope at least better camera and better screen.
Now I really want this phone. Best screen size, absolutely great screen-to-body -ratio with nice design. :o Audio chip is also okay, camera can take decent enough pictures. Battery life is great. Overall, seems to be a really damn good phone. Needs a screen protector for real, but still - one of the most interesting phones for me in years! Bring this to EU, please. :)
The only thing i dont like with xiaomi is that they have no glass protection :( this phone should have it since its cost alot.
JesterLee, 02 Dec 2016If you remove the WOW factor from this phone, then it's pretty ordinary. I would add these to ... moreYeah right, so rather than ceramic which scratches on an 8 in Moh's scales, you prefer to get something that scratches at a level 6/7 like gorilla glass or hardened glass and it would be just as shatterable (because you drop your phone everyday, but scratching items everywhere around you are much rarer, ohhh). On the other hand, aluminium or glossy aluminium may not crack or bend until serious force is applied, but scratches at a level 4/5 or 3 if your talking about the Jet Black Iphone 7. So, you want a Titanium phone? Vertu and Feld & Volk are your only options, but be ready to ditch over 5000$, for your obscene complaint.
This thing is still impractically big and there is no point to have such a screen size when you only display 1080p on it. A lot of people buying this are going to feel very disappointed. The phone has the worst of both worlds in terms of being prone to dropping and having such fragile bezels that the results are catastrophic.
After the novelty of the screen wears off. You are left with a pretty average phone.
Too bad about the camera. If they only put an awesome camera (took it from V20 or S7), they could've priced it $1300 I wouldn't care, I would have this device no matter the cost.
Personally, I hate Chinese phones for their low quality construction and low support in Os updates. But this phone is awesome, Xiaomi did something memorable, Sharp did edge less phoned like this, but Mi Mix is also a high-end phone. I really like the screen and concept, this should be the future. But the fragile ceramic construction and low-par cameras stop me from saying the word "flagship". But nevertheless It's a great phone and the other companies should learn what is innovation from Xiaomi, edge-less display is innovation, not "dual-camera","autofocus selfie" or "curved screen".
A phone could have 1TB internal storage and still cons: no micro sd cart slot. Dafuuq is wrong with people.
JesterLee, 02 Dec 2016If you remove the WOW factor from this phone, then it's pretty ordinary. I would add these to ... moreAny phone over 140x70mm is too big to handle one handed by most people. Most phones are handled two handed these days. Only iPhone and probably galaxy S avoid this dubious honor.
According to professional scratch test the glass is equally scratch prone as a gorilla glass 4.
...you still don't get it. It's not about the wow factor. It's about functionality. It's about fitting the biggest possible screen (I.E. productivity) in something that can still fit in many pockets (it's iPhone plus sized).
It's shutter prone, I agree. That is one thing that should be fixed in bezeless phones, instead Xiaomi made it all worse by choosing something as brittle as ceramic. A bad choice overall; *that* part is/was "fashion over function", not the screen size.
