"Constantly having to explain it's not an iPhone"... i laughed at this. It's right, since it would be an insult

AnonD-270570, 18 Feb 2017Wow a better iPhone powered by Android with same looks and feel inside and outside. you call mt6750 "a better iPhone", go home, u r drunk
This has to be a joke. Not the review but the phone. Not only does it completely rip off the iPhone in not just looks and in the software, but also goes as far to put the "apple tax" on their phones. To call that a premium brand I can't agree with at all. Anyone can make an apple rip off but that doesn't make it premium. Nor does putting a bedazzled pair of front cameras on it. I hope they get sued and that no one buys this junk. Not like it'll ever come to the US anyway because they know it would get destroyed by the real deal itself. Joke of a phone and brand, just another dud out of china.
Tried it on the store. The bokeh effect did worked just as the review said. Of course you shouldn't expect SLR-level bokeh, phone camera won't get there, not in a decade. But still, the bokeh implementation is currently the best. Built quality is also top notch, not dodgy like the V5 or Oppo F1S. But sadly, I still can't justify myself to spend $400+ for a phone with very weak CPU, if only it use SD 653 at least, I might grab it.
If you're a girl who want stylish phone and love selfie, this is best selfie camera you can have today.
"Main Shortcoming: Constantly having to explain it's not an iPhone".
Haha, well said!
I guess they even priced it high, copied the UI (icons & wallpaper too), and dropped the MicroSD slot & FM Radio to show it's "solidarity" with the iPhone! :P
Wow a better iPhone powered by Android with same looks and feel inside and outside.
Anonymous, 18 Feb 2017Yes, because this one is China-only and in China, you can copy whatever you wantVivo V5 Plus is also available in India at crazy high price of INR 28k. Who will ever buy this phone when you get OnePlus 3 for the same price!!!
The V5 Plus is the international variant of Chinese Vivo X9. They are assembling X9 in their Indian manufacturing unit, re-badging them as V5 Plus for the international markets. V5 Plus comes with full Google ecosystem support unlike X9 having passed the Google CTS test.
I use some of their previous flagships like X5Max & V3Max. They never do Android version upgrades but are very promt to roll out security updates. As for V5 Plus will forever be stuck in Marshmallow. I will never buy this phone due its worst price performance ratio. The Vivo V3Max with identical specs but more powerful Snapdragon 652 and memory card support at just INR 19k is a far better phone.
The V5 Plus is only for selfie maniacs!!!
AnonD-643107, 17 Feb 2017If this model would be Samsung, Apple would sue them right away.Yeah... you are right.
[deleted post]Not just in india, the same way happens in indonesia, i still cant wrapped my head how could oppo vivo beat Xiaomi in sales -_-
AnonD-643107, 17 Feb 2017If this model would be Samsung, Apple would sue them right away.Yes, because this one is China-only and in China, you can copy whatever you want
I will show you how to make a cheap Chinese mid ranger
1. copy&paste design from recent iPhone
2. copy Several features from recent iPhone
3. implement a low end chip
4. implement one special feature (doesn't care if it is useless or not)
5. price it for $ 300-400
6. enjoy the money you get from dumb average people
AnonD-643107, 17 Feb 2017If this model would be Samsung, Apple would sue them right away. There is a reason why these Chinese brands won't sell their products in the USA. An apparent threat of facing Apple in courts. But still these won't hurt Apple's sales as the Galaxy S and Notes do.
[deleted post]You can add Redmi 3s Prime also to that. Certain software elements resemble iOS rather than Android. The little time i spent with it made me feel that MIUI isn't android at all. And this Vivo one upped everyone in copying Apple to the core. Wonder why Apple doesn't sue these Chinese companies. Is it because they are from China, who doesn't care about patents and all?
