Xperia XZ Premium for me all day long. Better price, better chipset, more storage (in UK version), more wow features such as 960fps camera and the 4K HDR screen and in my opinion better looking.
It's sad that it can't even compete with the S7, yet is priced like a cutting edge phone. When LG mentioned that it will be a "value proposition" I was hoping on 450-500$ ballpark price. That's what this kind of phone costs these days if you compare with equally or better specced phones (except the Pixel, but it has far bigger camera sensor and was overpriced in the first place). So yeah, I don't understand LG's reasoning here, it's not like it's going to sell, even though the design is actually nice and it really seemed to be a good "value proposition", had it been priced like one.
Anyway, thanks for the review!
boring phone, not top latest snapdragon.. s7 edge and oneplus3 are way better phones then this.. only good is the IP rating.
Once again only a passing reference to the cause of the number one reason that people abandon their older phones, the sealed battery.
As long as there is no easy way to "rejuvenate" dying lithium cells I think it should be *stressed* when a company decides to remove the capacity to easily swap the battery.
I'm not talking here of the "instant 100%" and the ability to carry spares which is more power users territory. I'm talking here about the minimization of a phone's lifespan by sealing a battery.
I'm continuously dissapointed that review sites don't *stress* that and basically add pressure to companies to offer this capacity more readily.
My nexus 4 is close to useless despite of how usable it still is in its functions, all because its battery doesn't make the afternoon anymore. This is a big deal and it gets increasingly bigger as people hold on to their phones for longer (fewer changes between generations).
I implore you, don't only reference this in passing. LG just joined the masses by offering sealed battery. This is a big deal that should be taking center stage in a review such as this. Serious value is being cut from consumers for non good reason (that may benefit them).
Review sites should be in the side of consumers...
How can you possibly charge $700+ for SD 821 and 4GB of RAM? Just have flagship pricing doesn't make a flagship phone. If this phone has stereo speaker and quad-flash, it would stands out more but not as a 2017 flagship
Was a big fan of Lg, but not any more. Bought S7 edge recently, much better device than my previous G smartphones. And the new one will be a huge flop- nothing premium for this amount of money, even Huawei are more appealing with P10, so sad about LG ;/ . Will the times when they kicked everyone's asses come back again? Just like my G3 was way better than Galaxy S5/Iphone5S...
