no quad dac in europe is a deal breaker for me. thanks, lg, maybe next time.
dammit I want this phone so bad you wouldn't understand ...
Is there any Google Assistance? and how about the lack in Color Spectrum Sensor? Has it got any effect on the photos? hope you put these in when you update it later after you guys got the conventional version. Thanks.
Not gonna lie that normal camera is awesome the best ever yet, wide angle not so much but with mediocre battery life and that ultra steep pricing, nope not going to buy it for that price. Ultimately this not sell well for LG
I was so surprised that back lg g6 is glass, it looks very much like plastic as in lg g3 or asus zenfone 2
Anonymous, 16 Mar 2017The big bezel is good looking? Even Mi Max looks better than XZ P.Looks are simply a matter of opinion and taste and like the balanced look of the XZ Premium as the G6 has two different sized bezels which to me at least looks strange.
Anonymous, 16 Mar 2017"As for the ultimate in specs, LG says we should look for them in the V-series from now on."
... moreLG lost me because they do not sell the V20 in large parts of Europe.
Compared with LG G6: Huawei Mate 9 has a larger screen, bigger battery and a better chipset and it's cheeper (€577 where I live)
If they make the V30 worldwide available I could have waited for this one. But I don't think they will...
Coming from LG G4, now a happy Mate 9 owner.
Anonymous, 16 Mar 2017"As for the ultimate in specs, LG says we should look for them in the V-series from now on." ... moreI forgot to mention that this also means that they use G6 to save money for the V30. Not surprised that G6 is a dumbed down, lite version of G5 with shiny fashion design.
Finally we had a nice thing with 16:9 aspect ratio on monitors, tvs, phones etc.. where media content perfectly matched the display.
Now they are trying to ruin that by introducing this weird 18:9 ratio where we would have black bars on most media content and less area to work with.
This seems like a nice phone but I won't buy this just because of the aspect ratio.
"As for the ultimate in specs, LG says we should look for them in the V-series from now on."
I hope this means a true smartphone: removable battery, IR blaster, current generation camera sensor, etc.
clearly no match against huawei mate 9.
lg service is crap
Xperia XZ Premium for me all day long. Better price, better chipset, more storage (in UK version), more wow features such as 960fps camera and the 4K HDR screen and in my opinion better looking.
It's sad that it can't even compete with the S7, yet is priced like a cutting edge phone. When LG mentioned that it will be a "value proposition" I was hoping on 450-500$ ballpark price. That's what this kind of phone costs these days if you compare with equally or better specced phones (except the Pixel, but it has far bigger camera sensor and was overpriced in the first place). So yeah, I don't understand LG's reasoning here, it's not like it's going to sell, even though the design is actually nice and it really seemed to be a good "value proposition", had it been priced like one.
Anyway, thanks for the review!
boring phone, not top latest snapdragon.. s7 edge and oneplus3 are way better phones then this.. only good is the IP rating.
Once again only a passing reference to the cause of the number one reason that people abandon their older phones, the sealed battery.
As long as there is no easy way to "rejuvenate" dying lithium cells I think it should be *stressed* when a company decides to remove the capacity to easily swap the battery.
I'm not talking here of the "instant 100%" and the ability to carry spares which is more power users territory. I'm talking here about the minimization of a phone's lifespan by sealing a battery.
I'm continuously dissapointed that review sites don't *stress* that and basically add pressure to companies to offer this capacity more readily.
My nexus 4 is close to useless despite of how usable it still is in its functions, all because its battery doesn't make the afternoon anymore. This is a big deal and it gets increasingly bigger as people hold on to their phones for longer (fewer changes between generations).
I implore you, don't only reference this in passing. LG just joined the masses by offering sealed battery. This is a big deal that should be taking center stage in a review such as this. Serious value is being cut from consumers for non good reason (that may benefit them).
Review sites should be in the side of consumers...
How can you possibly charge $700+ for SD 821 and 4GB of RAM? Just have flagship pricing doesn't make a flagship phone. If this phone has stereo speaker and quad-flash, it would stands out more but not as a 2017 flagship
Was a big fan of Lg, but not any more. Bought S7 edge recently, much better device than my previous G smartphones. And the new one will be a huge flop- nothing premium for this amount of money, even Huawei are more appealing with P10, so sad about LG ;/ . Will the times when they kicked everyone's asses come back again? Just like my G3 was way better than Galaxy S5/Iphone5S...
