No... moreWow, pal, I'm huge Sony fan, using Sony since Ericsson and Z2 still my daily driver, but I must admit that their time has gone, I don't care about bezels and still prefer Sony design without round corners and shiny gipsy stuff like Samsung, but camera far behind even Huawei, dual-speakers quiter and worse in quality vs Sammy, battery is a joke in such huge body, I'm waited for new-camera breath in XZs for myself, but now I must reconsider and switch brand , afraid of AMOLED, but maybe test my luck

Just to confirm: its for flagship price with just new camera? Premium seems more like real flagship for that price.

Looking at the photo comparison tool, the XZs wins against the s7 and XZ in good light.
S7 still wins in low light, XZs is much better than XZ.
Much less grain than the XZ in both conditions.
Bit more sharpening and brightening in low light and I'd say its a clear overall winner.

When more and more oems are reducing the bezels, it is rare to see those who insist in maintaining the big bezels...maybe that is another unique selling point...

Now almost everyone can't live without it for how far the technology has come from, and this is no different. It needs to be polished first before becoming successful. But this feature is pathbreaking because it's the proof of future when almost all phones will be able to do the same.
Bezels are there for better grip and screen protection. Your screen has a higher potential of breaking when dropped sideways as there is no barrier to weaken the impact from the outside body travelling to the screen panel
FHD screen is still relevant for flagships cause you don't really need an overkill display on a small screen. Yes the XZ Premium is also overkill, but it gives you the ability to change the screen resolution to your needs
Stereo speakers will always be better than mono single down facing speakers. GSMArena's audio test is nonsense as it's only about loudness and not talking the quality at all. Ask all audiophile people and I bet a $100, all of them will say that Sony flagship phones are excellent audio device, even if not the best out today, but no one will ever say that Samsung high ends are good
I feel so bad that a year old chipset is already old. It's just like yesterday, the SD820 is the most powerful processor then tomorrow, it is now considered a terrible SoC. SD820 is still very capable, so why change it? If we can, what will we use to change it? SD821?
It's just the exact same chip, only slightly overclocked for more heat.
It's implemented there because it's an innovation. I bet you also said the same thing when fingerprint reader was pathetically implemented on smartphones, and now you will hardly live without tt, will you?

If not then qhd is way to go. I have used gear VR ,daydream VR and none was nauseating. It's pretty good for use till around half an hour of course you can't expect VR of level of Oculus or vive for that price

And Googled VR is really bad experience on 2K amoled I tried out, like really bad.
Had nausea 5 min in.
Googled VR is terrible, Dedicated set VR for mobile, with its own screens is the way to go.

DisplayMate is such a biased reference point because they never test any other phones than Samsung and Apple. If they test the Xperia flagship phones and come up with truthful statements with no sort of cheating, then I might believe it. I don't really believe GSMArena's testing machines for the display. Color accuracy is a standpoint for every eyes, one can find sAMOLEDs more accurate, and some may find IPS screens to be accurate

Real quality of low light is indeed superb, as seen on tech buzz yt review of automode XZs vs S8.
So dont fall into that discussion trap here, its always like that.
I know what my cam on X Perf can do in lowlight, and its not the 3200 ISO handheld hardshutter crp posted as always in Xperia revs here.
