Samsung fans that are proud that their S8/S8+ is the fastest android phone in the world, here's your "fastest android phone in the world"

No doubt some of this is GN7 owners like myself who had to return the GN7.

AnonD-521587, 21 Apr 2017lol bro sony has been ahead. Its samsung that has caught up and surpassed sony. Sony was ahead... moreSony was always bad that's why it never sold too well.
Initial sales are made due to marketing, but long term sales happen due to the quality of the product. Sony was always trying to cut corners in the hardware department believing their own myth (optimizations matter more). But given that all (apart from Apple) run android, means that hardware is by far the most important differentiating factor, Sony's cuts *directly* impacted their sales.
Similarly with Samsung lately. Up until Note 3/4 they used to load their phones and they would sell incredibly, once they started cutting corners their flagships' sales started falling and by now they have fall of a cliff. Only in Apple hardware is secondary, in everybody else load your phone and great sales are guaranteed.
awsm mobile i want to get it but
what's the EMI option
AlienNextDoor, 21 Apr 2017Note 4 is still such a great phone. I feel somewhat bad about selling mine and buying an S7. A... moreNote 4 was clearly the better phone.
S-pen
Better use of QHD as it has the bigger screen
IR
1 minute recharge (pop a spare) instead of 90 minute recharge (quick charge)
Practical to double battery capacity (carry a spare or use a bigger battery instead carrying a mobile charger)
Far easier to repair (everything is a few screws away)
Much greater community support (software support even when Samsung stops)
Actually extremely fast when using the Exynos version.
What it lacks:
Not water proof (a gimmick to most, it's still splash proof)
Bad fingerprint sensor (actually a problem to some)
Speed (not really, though custom software it's actually faster since the hardware is veery similar)
So yeah, a bad idea to replace Note 4 (best Samsung phone ever) with a lower quality phone (s7) just because it looks flashier and/or is newer. The power of marketing, when it convinces people to buy products that are actually worse than the one they had.
Note 4 is *still* the kind of phones. Nothing touches it to this day, especially is one uses custom roms.

In Australia i was $1349 pre-order (with free gear VR).
That is getting up near apple prices but...
The S8+ has the best screen, best camera, best looks (imho), great build quality and great battery life.
I'm happy to pay a bit extra to get the best :-)

The Exynos beat the Snapdragon in most benchmark tests. Either way, both versions are lightning fast and more than anyone needs.

I would strongly recommend you to go for SONY XPERIA XZ Premium, Nokia N8, One Plus 5
Europe and US market average 52k but India 64k with much lower hardware configuration.
Samsung India overpriced S8+ at least 25% because of following reason:
a. Providing Exynos 8895 Octa - EMEA and Octa-core (4x2.3 GHz & 4x1.7 GHz) - EMEA Mali-G71 MP20 - EMEA
b. pre register - wireless charger, absolute no use.
European and American Market:
a. Qualcomm MSM8998 Snapdragon 835, Octa-core (4x2.35 GHz Kryo & 4x1.9 GHz Kryo), Adreno 540
b. pre booking: new gear VR
Now my Indian friends to take the decision to go with S8+ or any other high end at low cost

Its samsung that has caught up and surpassed sony. Sony was ahead of its time back when the z2 was released. It had ip68, great design and materias, front duo speakers, best camera, best display etc. Samsung didnt stand a chance.
Samsung eventually caught up wiith the z2/z3 of sony. Sony needs to innovate again to beat samsung. xzp is a good step.

I feel somewhat bad about selling mine and buying an S7. Apart from a tiny bit faster I don't really see the difference. Perhaps there's also the fact that the Note was easier to hold because it was really grippy since it's back isn't glass.
Honestly other than bragging rights I've no idea why people keep buying new phones.
Black S8+ (Exynos) turned up an hour ago. Have plugged in my free 256GB SD card (thanks GN7)
Initial thoughts are.
- The black looks great and the device feels really well built.
- Glad they are going black cables and accessories
- Initially it looks a touch long but doesn't take long to feel normal.
- The S8 is grippier than the GN7. Not as grippy as my GN4.
- In relation to the black strips. On the Black phone it is really difficult to notice so not an issue.
- The Samsung phone data transfer system is really slick.
- The curved edges are gentle and don't create issues.
- The screen is whiter and a lot brighter than the S7. Viewing angles are a lot better also as is the performance outside. My GN4 screen looks terrible in comparison
- The camera has an 18.5:9 resolution (4032x1960). Personally i will be using 16:9.
- The camera performance is a massive step up on the S7 for inside pics. Haven't checked outside yet.
- Forgot to check the ram before installing apps. Currently it is using 1.6/4.0GB when cleared.
On the downside.
The fingerprint scanner location isn't great. Would be better below the camera.
I have hit the bixby button a few times by accident. The volume rocker keys could be a touch lower.
Putting the SD card in the tray was a little fiddly.
Will post more later once i have used and tested it but overall it is awesome so far.
I dont like the aspect ratio. Pity it is just pitched to gaming. As for everything else, like most mobiles of recent years, there is nothing that is a real step up in technology or usability. One could sit back with their 3 year old mobile and still do everything that is needed. I am certainly not going to rush out and pay top dollar for this. I might add I do own a Samsung, and have always used them with great satisfaction. But I am still stuck with a few Note 4's, which still do a great job. Just replaced the battery with a genuine item and off we go for another 3 years of trouble free business.
