some people know how to issue out what they feel here, but their critics don't make sense,
don't hate but congratulate. this is a nice phone, I must say.
Phone aside and I'm neither bashing nor praising it for now, but reviewer is getting really enthusiastic and a normal person can easily feel it. The gsmarena reviews aren't as neutral, non enthusiastic as they used to be.
Second thing which I already said some days ago and I had got support from other readers in replies and upvotes, that I think gsmarena should now review phones (and specially flagship phones) more critically. Because, as "The Verge" stated, "it is more difficult to make a bad phone than a good phone these days" even $100 redmi 4a is good enough, and an upper midrange phone is always many times more than enough. So flagships which are multiple times pricier should be analyzed critically... From spec comparison with current crop, it's predesser, quality of features.
AlienNextDoor, 18 Apr 2017Worse design than S7. Curved screen is an annoying gimmick. The fingerprint reader is now usel... moreNope, you'll buy next year or in 2019, at tops. In 2018, S7 family will receive Android O and then only security upgrades, so you'd have to upgrade if u want newer and better android builds.
Back in Black! I like the return to black USB cables and black earphones after years of Apple-inspired white packages.
look out at xiaomi mi6 for the competitors' list of samsung s8...
a lot of phones have better cameras

AnonD-115391, 19 Apr 2017So I read the review. Some of my thoughts are similar. But not all. I got my S8+ as well today... moreExcellent description...
90% to perfect phone. For sure screen size > battery capacity. Disappointed!
AnonD-77443, 19 Apr 2017Many phone companies would kill for an 88 hour battery life. The Xiaomi Mi 5 with SD820 and 3000 mAh battery gets 92h endurance, for just €200. :P
So nice.. I like it. I want this phone. Samsung Galaxy S8+. But how I got it???
pankaj, 19 Apr 2017galaxy s8 launched in india for 57900 Rupees ie 899 dollar. i think its overpricedIn Europe its 900€ wherever I look, dont know where rev found it for 850.
And plain is 800€.
Its a 100€ more than last year....
I really cant see a reason for price jump.
No really.
They just added that funny wide letterbox screen and a tiny tiny cam for iris scanner. And ask 100€ more from fans for it.
Even the rev didnt find it weird or suspect in any way to comment on that.
As a side note, Samsung's chipsets are becoming more and more mature. Not only it's capable of 120fps@4k (disabled to match the SD835) but also the modem, which was the final glory of Qualcomm is better on Exynos chips now. Makes me wonder why Samsung is still going SD835 in the US and cannibalizing variants with Exynos in the process, by matching the lowest common denominator.
On top of that, the beast mode didn't make the cut, as the SD835 doesn't clock higher than 2.45ghz and at increased voltage penalty at that. The Mangoose cores can reach 3ghz at stock voltage on most samples. I wonder if Samsung has to out variants with Qualcomm chips just in exchange for Qualcomm tech like Quick charge.
Corrections for your review:
- The power saving core on the Exynos is obviously A53, not A5
- The camera sensor is actually an entirely different model after all for both, the Sony and Samsung sensor variants. They have exactly the same specs, including size, but still.
- The Exynos was downclocked to match the SD835' performance on both core clusters, thus the battery results on it are apparently significantly better, just as was the case with the S7. I assume a comparison by you guys is in motion already so this is just something to keep in mind in the meantime.
- Samsung is unlikely to go dual cameras, luckily. Rumor is they wanted a bigger sensor from Sony instead, but couldn't get enough units, thus no progress. This phone has a lot of things where Samsung had cool plans but had to settle for less like this, just as with the fingerprint sensor and no bixby voice at launch.
