Kinda weird.
Some Chinese phones have small bezels yet I could hardly name any of them with better camera than Sony's flagships.
Let alone Huawei with even larger bezels than Sony

sony's engineers have to learn a lot from samsung's and china's engineers. those brands can put great camera inside bezel-less body. sony is still thousand miles behind them in terms of design.

It would have been a great phone if they would have reduced the top bottom bezels by few mm.

Hah? totally imbala... moreNot every country is like India where the most bang-for-the-buck phones are readily available. Here, we don't have Oneplus, Xiaomi, or ZTE, or even Honor. The mid-range is something that should give you considerable performance without much futureproofing, example is the Xperia SP from 2013, it packed plenty of power, but it only has a dual-core processor and only updated till Android 4.3. If you want to compare phones, also think about it's availability globally. The XA1 packs decent horsepower, but is in no means a top contender. It's as if this phone was built to get things done, and it can do those things in fashion. If you want to play Crysis on your phone, then get the OP3T.

Great phone for single handed compare to those 5.5 junk. Good battery life and full HD or HD doesn't make noticeable differences in a 5 inch frame. Good one from Sony and I'm getting one to replace my 3 years old z1 compact.

They surely don't read the comments sections. It's as if Kaz Hirai was commenting in GSMArena, but no, they have much more important things to do and if those large bezels really were that important to us, a consumer would have emailed Sony already, but I think only a few had done that.
