People are hating Sony for large bezels
When the X Ultra comes out with extremely small bezels and 21:9 ratio screen, people will hate again
What's wrong with people's brains? Are they using it? Such a waste of space to have them that won't be ever used
AnonD-237381, 07 May 2017You talk like P10 and the Plus have larger than Life bezels, its bezels aren't that big, and b... moreSo a 70% STB Ratio means small bezels already?
It may have smaller bezels, but it doesn't take away with the fact that it's got some massive ones, probably even more than Sony still - those side bezels are only making it smaller, not noticing black border bezels.
Huawei got better cameras than Sony? Since when? And where?
Maybe that's from Planet Z where only Chinese people live there
AnonD-395326, 08 May 2017chck side by side photo comparison with xzs vs huawei p10 or plus
Oh, the P10 and P10 Plua
Two of the 87-point scorers in DxOMark, just as good as the XZ, which in itself, has lost to the XA1's camera minus video recording.
Good for China that they at least one competent brand that will give them a positive feedback, because if Huawei never thought of paying Leica to do their cameras, Chinese phones would be irrelevang by now
AnonymouseX, 07 May 2017And with that, we won't believe the Pixel phones and Galaxy phones, and also LG phones to have... moreHonestly I doubt that 99% of consumers would be buying a phone based on DXO score. If so Sony would be selling way more Than they do now

All against Samsung.
Last time X Performance humiliated S7.. Even Mate 9 had more votes.
AnonymouseX, 07 May 2017So what do you call the P10 and P10 Plus then?
Btw, I'm living in a world with phones with av... moreThe average smartphone display or screen size increased in a span of a decade. To keep you up to speed, starting from this year, watch how the average bezel size decrease for another decade.
Don't worry, Sony shall, some day, get to read the memo stuck on their bulletin somewhere their office, pinned by one of four sharp corners of a recent Xperia model, reading "Uhhh... bezels. Get with the times!"
AnonymouseX, 07 May 2017So what do you call the P10 and P10 Plus then? Btw, I'm living in a world with phones with av... moreYou talk like P10 and the Plus have larger than Life bezels, its bezels aren't that big, and btw their design is way prettier than any SONY phone, with better cameras.
what is the wrong with Xperia XA design !!! instead of this boxy sharp ugly phone.
one of the worst phone i ever seen, i can't believe the management has a approved this shit.
Go away, Cassy. Troll somewhere else. You and those ugly, laggy, overrated Samsung phones.
This phone is interesting considering I just got a PS4 slim yesterday for $200. Some Best Buy employee gave me a $100 discount from an LG G5 promo that was supposed to include a $100 gift card but expired. Nice guy for still offering me $100 discount.
I may need to get a Sony Xperia next to try out PS4's Remote Play. I'm eyeing the X Performance or XZ though. The former was going for $300 recently. And a little more compact than the XZ. Like Pixel or S7 flat in height.
Even though my Clippers lost last Sunday, I did hit the Kentucky Derby yesterday. I'm still happy at spending. A Sony phone would be my 11th phone though. Would never get a Samsung again. S7 edge will be my last. Pretty exterior but UGLY software experience.
I don't undrerstand why people who are not interested in XA1 are bashing this phone!
XA1 cannot be compared with Galaxy A5, its even cheaper than A3 let alone A5.
Its good looking mobile, and larger top and bottom bezels don't effect the one hand usage but just make it a little less pocketable.
I like the gold version the most, what a design. Sony is absolutely recognizable as a Sony.
Anonymous, 07 May 2017stupid design. those sony designers put the 'sony brand' on the top bezel, thats why they make... moreperhaps you should check out the article where Sony engineers toredown an XZ Premium at MWC. Inside those bezels is a 1/2.3 inch sensor, an L-shaped PCB just like the iPhones that somehow had an important reason with the shape, stereo speakers, and a headphone jack. On the XA1, the issue here is that the phone is tall, and does it affect usage? No, because whatever phone we use, it will always be too large for our hands and hand gymnastics will always be done. Plus, width is the factor that affects usability more. And this phone's width is offset by the forehead and chin.
AnonD-633729, 07 May 2017What's your point? Iphones have ips lcd. This is nearly as sharp as a nearly $1000 iphone.
Anonymous, 07 May 2017Why Sony's phones have mostly a weak loudspeaker? Because almost: dust and waterproofed! Maybe
AnonD-633729, 07 May 2017Chinese brands, huawei, oppo, vivo, xiaomi or whatever, all have better camera than sony. Sony... moreUh huh?
Can you link me directly to DxOMark Mobile with at least one Chinese crap phone scoring higher than the XZ?
Maybe I'd give you a dollar if you can :DD

I said that ancient technology should not be delivered in 2017. Its like buying new laptop with 4th generation of Intel processors for the same price as you are able to buy 7th generation. If you want to have a 28nm chip, please do. But you should be getting this phone for half a price, otherwise you are being ****. You realise when was that Intel introduced 22nm technology (from 32nm)?. That was in 2011.
