I ordered the black variant for $599, fantastic phone, top notch specs, fantastic camera, great speakers, hi-res DAC, squeeze, 174K in antutu with pre release software. Camera low light shots with pre production software.

The article begins with: "Just when we thought HTC was through with this generation's flagship announcement in the form of the U Ultra, the Taiwanese manufacturer decided it would squeeze one more release in."

The supposed wow-factor of this device is the Edge Sense, which lets you squeeze it to activate features/apps. The pun there is that the Taiwanese company _squeezed_ in another U device after the U Ultra, which many believed was the next flagship of HTC.

Does this let me fly away?

Just like you buy a very good headphone but listening through a cheap feature phone or player , you will not have any benefits. The type of the headphone in the bad with HTC 10 is entry level which worth less than USD 10 dollars which you can buy else where, but HTC advertised as it worth USD 100 dollars. What a devil!

you completely don't know what audio is, HTC fanboys / employee.

DAC alone is not powerful enough to... moreHey gentleman, HTC never use dedicated dac, htc just used the audio section built in the Snapdragon chip which other manufacturers also used it if they decided not to use an dedicated dac. Apps like poweramp can do the same things.

For HTC fanboys, please prove to me HTC has use dedicated dac in ifixit, etc. Otherwise, you are lied!

One more thing, please clarify u11 use ddr 3 or ddr4 for ram, it is highly likely that they use ddr3. :)

Other part of hte post is just speculation and personal preference. The Chinese brands you've listed in the 2nd post all have problems of their own too. At least they're cheaper (except for the Huawei), making it easier to live with.

The fact that the HTC U11 is pretty awesome in almost every respect makes me even more sad that it doesn't have a 3.5 mm headphone jack. If it did have it, many more people would consider buying it.
