sony flagships always have camera issues. their image processing software is not good. even the future sony phones will have the same issues.
that bezel is too big. The user interface also looks unspecial, average, and little bit ugly. combined with that square shape.. ooolalaa.. it looks unpleasant.
and also in the backside.. the placement of the circle
-shaped lens, and elliptic-shaped sensors looks weird.
sony really really have to hire good new designers.
their current designs is awful

Solution to your problem is there. Z5 Premiums 4k screen can run anything fhd, 2k or 4k with a proper setting of the VR app.
Some even say that 2k apps on that 4k screen, even if only 2k seem to be much more detailed too...
if you own z5 premium and VR headset, as you ve been there so you say.... you are wellcome, glad I could help.

So yeah, it has a 4k screen that may be used for VR if anyone was to support it (enable 4k when split screen -VR- mode is selected). Sadly it isn't, all we get is a 4k screen rendering at 1080p which looks a mess under VR's magnification (tried Z5 premium, been there, done that).

No really, I m boggled how some people think Xperias cant do VR, just because it doesnt come with GearVR or Daydream...
Inform yourself please.
mauw, 16 May 2017where are the huge bezels haters? They are busy in their ugliest S8 with gimmick curved screen, red tint screen and afraid from accidental explosion.
Anonymous, 16 May 2017U11 may attract some potential customers....Definitely NO with Bluetooth v4.2 and without 3.5mm SAINT HOLE
base on previous sony's flagship line, this year their flagship will top dxo mark.
The Only, 16 May 2017You are dreaming...No he isn't. It's you guys who start the whole dxo thing. Also now 88 is 3rd position still pretty good. Sony messes up where people click most pics. Like in club or concerts at night with multiple uneven light sources. It may be better elsewhere but messes up where needed in 50% of cases

Arian Adler, 16 May 20174K HDR display but is not 4K HDR 10-bit... why Sony why!?It it 4K 10-bit HDR.
LG G6 has 12-bit HDR, but no 4K.
S8 has 10-bit that they call HDR10+, due to the inclusion of "dynamic metadata". Apparently that makes a big diffference, although of course they would say that. Remains to be seen, I guess.

aNONYMOUS, 16 May 2017Seriously? In 2017? Sony still have that Very Large Bezels?
#funny.Tiny bezel mean smaller protection, smaller protection mean the damage risk is higher, so many years Samsung still making crap phone. I doubt their design would be more flaws without a proper bezel. Could Samsung stop making crap phones?
FYI, the Xperia XZ Premium become more durable, the top and bottom sides of the chassis are made entirely of metal. They are flat and diamond-cut along the edge to form a reflecting facet. The surface of the facets is double anodized, which makes the finish more durable, and contributes to some light-bending effects.
Keywords: Double Anodized. You can't find Samsung use this technology on their phone.
