Contrast ratio is awful for 4k resolution(low contrast ratio)
Improve it for challenging galaxy s8
Anonymous, 21 Jun 2017meh. it looks uglyI am not Fianatic about Sony products, but the quality design is always better than other competitors. Ugly or Beautiful, it is all about personal preferences, and I like the designs, because it gorgeous and good-looking, why are you say it is ugly? Give me your reason/excuses.

jjfz, 18 Jun 2017Ergonomics is missing in this design. With sharp corners it will be uncomfortable to use the phone. Guy you have to hold it yourself in reality. It is like a refined jewelry and nice to hold.

too ugly for me. bad screen to body ratio. ugly square shape with enormous bezel.

Use Sony dedicated headphones.
Sony phones have lower headphone output voltage than most, around 0.35V, rest go for about 0.7V. While its better for battery consumption and signal to noise reduction, it requires lower impedance headphones to offer same volume outputs.
NonSony headphones are of average 32-50 ohms, Sony headphones are usually 16-24ohm, so provide much better volume for 0.35V output.

You cannot see the difference between QHD and 4K on photos, in fact you could hardly see it between FHD and QHD...
Sony is killing functionality for the sake of gimmicks.
4K screen = lower battery for things you can barely see = gimmick
FF speakers= much greater footprint for tinny -still- sound = gimmick
Been on a few blogs and one topic that seems to be common is the low volume level when playing media and music via headphones, I've got a pretty good pair of Marshall cans and and checked all sound options via settings, raised level as far as possible yet the sound level is very low compared to my last HTC 10 and other phones I've listened to of friends devices, I estimate the level is around 20/25% lower than I'm used to, I understand that Sony may have set sound levels at a level to protect our ears however I consider that this is a personal choice and even if a warning of high volumes notification comes up its still my choice if I want to max out listening to AC/DC, the sound quality is superb and playing via a separate Bluetooth device or my Bose sound system is awesome quality big tick there!! But such a low volume level via headphones is not what I expected and pretty disappointing to put it mildly, I proberbly expected that the many volume boost Apps available would do a raise and I was correct they are all a waste of time and don't do anything to increase sound volumes.
So Sony please do a sofware fix this frustrating issue to otherwise a Great phone.
