Lol a lot of sony trolls,bashers and haters on this forum. Always complaining about the bezels,rectangular design, camera, audio,price etc etc.... Why don't you just buy gadgets which suit your taste and budget rather than commenting here in this forum. To all viewers, gsmarena is not the sole reviewer of smartphones, if you want to see raw footage of camera n video, just watch YouTube, some are unedited and you can see the difference. But most of all it takes one to own one before making a comment. BUY SONY AND MAKE BELIEVE.

I would say to be careful not to go by just one source when seeking a verdict however. A more accurate message you could have sent is:

....at least as far as IDG.TV are concerned"
But as the comparison was well presented and balanced, I will be watching more of their videos, so cheers again for the link :)

Id say they are on par. But I like the way XZ does it more, with IMO bettet parameters as I stated before.

Not saying it's not, but I'm saying that the difference is very negligible. S8 looks better at exposing, but not like the XZ Premium is unusable.
And I am very sure for the S8 to capture paler colors while the XZ Premium represents the colors the way we see it. Highway orange lights on the XZ Premium are just as orange as every single orange lights in every country.
Like I've said, S8 only nailed the dynamic range, but that's about it. XZ Premium looks more natural in detailing without being aggressive of sharpening the image, while the S8 looks terribly oversharpened especially with those horrible halos at each subject of the S8's image.

Here is the S8 XZP comparisons YOU ... moreHard to be sure, but it looks as though there is perhaps a subtle improvement in dynamic range versus say the XZ, but I wouldn't say enough to bring it in line with the best of the competition. Also, if you look at the 'HDR-Normal' comparison sample shots of the building with cloudy sky, you will see that Sony are still simply boosting the shadows in the HDR shot, whilst doing nothing to reign in the highlights.
In effect, their HDR is simply a shadow brightening mode, same as ever.
Now most manufacturers fail to implement HDR properly, Samsung go overboard as usual, Apple is arguably to subtle (though they do get a lot of credit for having one of the more natural and balanced implementations), LG too easily suffers from ghosting if there is the slightest of movement etc.
Yet it's infuriating that a company with as much chops in the photography game as Sony cannot seem to get these things right, it's not like they haven't had the time.
