Re colour accuracy, I am certain the street and car lights are close to the S8 than the XZP which shows them as a terrible yellow/orange.

It blowed up some highlights but nailed the color accuracy better. Detail isn't as smooth, but you can definitely the halos made by aggressive oversharpening that didn't help that well at all. Sony only needs more practice regarding the processing, but the hardware is there, whereas Samsung won't overcome their hardware limitation with software processing

Is it just me or does the "4K SDR" screen look more HDR than the "4K HDR" screen on page 3?!
As usual wonderful software package from Sony. Their multimedia apps are super, although I don't like the trend of cutting down. Earlier there was FM Radio, File Manager App & TrackID built-in.
It's also great that after many years Sony has finally improved their camera software to match their already awesome camera sensors. BTW is this new sensor also a multi-aspect ratio one like the previous Sony Z5 sensor or is it just cropping those 19MP 4:3 shots?
Anyway, it's a wonderful smartphone!

No, you can reasonably expect whatever highend device's Sony may reveal at IFA 2017 (and likely MWC 2018) to feature the same imx400 hardware, but with subtle changes to the image processing in order to get better results out of it.
I think a lens modification to f1.8 is perhaps the only meaningful alteration we can possibly expect in that timeframe.

The XZP has terrible colour / white balance, cant handle the dynamic range and blows out the bright areas.

A bit more exposure, better detail preservation, better color and dynamic range.

Anonymous, 14 May 2017Increase brightness and E.V. Set WB for cloudy day... Your photos will be like S7's Actually decreasing to 12 mpx, decreasing LE and lowering WB to more blue in auto will produce worse lowlight photos, like on s7/s8.

Also it's a 40 BN company having a good hold of entertainment industry and so I suppose they must be having advertising channels. Why don't they market devices is beyond my comprehension
