I would like to acknowledge the precise observations made about philosophy of the company sony as compared to other brands in the market. I'm surprised how you were able to see it, something so obvious but never caught my attention.

Whos care about bad low light performance of xzp...iPhone 7 camera is bad in low light but people buy it ...battery life is great for 4k display....and about benchmark ? In real life sony beat ugly samsung s8 , IPhone 7 plus , and other...must wait n watch YouTube reviews live hand to hand....
The Only, 13 May 2017That is your opinion buddy.Not all people love those curvy.What is the benefits of those curvy... moreOK, I'll tell you some benefits of those curves, while phones look similar since years with flat rectangle display big bezels and cheap Chinese brands like vivo, oppo and xiaomi are coming with exact looking cheap phones, flagship users need something that makes them look out of the crowd, I mean one person spending $900 should have a better looking phone than someone who spent $200 and as most Android users are sane they know why looks matters, they can't accept same looking device for 4 years in a row like Apple so when phones with stunning curved displays are possible, how it can be a worse thing than a flat panel phone. Apart from making it look very sexy and completely bezel less on sides the curved display also provide some very useful shortcuts through tasks edge and smart select, if you'll watch it in videos you'll get an idea how big these two things alone are over the gimmick of 3d touch by Apple. S8 is compact, lighter and easier to hold as compared to Xperia XZp but still provides a bigger display 5.8 inch 150g phone vs 5.4 inch 200g phone. If you don't see it anything then probably you don't know how computers evolved over years by fitting large in small. Now we've 10nm processors so why the phones stay heavy and bulky, the fifth generation of computers is about artificial intelligence, thousands of scientists are working on this field to make computers behave like humans, the galaxy S8 is one of the best example of this development life cycle while other brands are just about releasing a similar new phone every year with better processor, camera and price. If people will keep calling these next gen tech features as gimmicks then even after 10 years, the latest flagship smartphone will just be an app emulator to run apps with 45MP camera, faster processor, 5.9 inch flat panel with bezels and very slow motion video capability. If you see phone as a smartphone while comparing and consider the latest and greatest tech while praising the expert minds behind them, you'll easily find out which phone is a better smartphone and which one is just fulfilling a ritual of launching a new phone every year.
At least try to understand my point as well, because I'm taking so much time only to read your whole passages and understand each of them.
At least have some idea about here. God it's so hard to explain it to people who don't know how to listen.
Jesse Clark, 13 May 2017But Xperia Xzp has a bigger battery than S8, still lower rating? You're just counting battery mAh and not noting other key differences that affects battery life. No wonder why you can't understand.
Screen size, resolution, and technology
Research them all and you will understand why.
You know it's so hard to explain it to people that know little about this
Shadow Snypa786, 13 May 2017So you telling me sony knew it was a 4k display and they still put in a measly battery??? :D
... morePut this thing into consideration.
LG G6 is the closest thing to be compared to the XZ Premium in battery life.
G6 has 70mAh more battery
G6 has lower resolution screen
Yet just scores the same endurance rating as the XZ Premium. Sure it's on a lower efficiency processor, but you should take this into consideration.
If the XZ Premium had as much pixels as the S8, it would easily pass into the 80h endurance mark.
You only assump something without even thinking about it, which makes you the troll here and no one else
Shadow Snypa786, 13 May 2017LOL its funny considering if the Xperia XZ premium smashed the S8 benchmark cores like everyon... moreThe fanboys have nothing to do with the phones.
Like I've said, I don't care about benchmarks because they don't reflect real life usage and speed tests are more reliable as they show how much power does each phone use when used in practical daylife.
You can enjoy that rubbish and horribly lagging UI, bloated software with unnecessary gimmicks, slow software updates, shorter support, reddish tinted screen, charging pad not working, no stereo speakers, rubbish audio quality, inferior 2K screen, only better low light camera, easier to break glass, full of useless craps, and so many more, while I'd enjoy my phone that is just flawless in every single way
Shadow Snypa786, 13 May 2017Sony being careful? That would make sense if in previous years they had bigger batteries etc.... moreNot every flagship, check out the old Z2 an Z3, and the Z3 Compact. Every phone after those except for Z5C had abysmal battery life. It was mostly because of the SD810.
The Only, 13 May 2017And I think you are blind.Can you go to hospital and check for your eyes.You know what,I miss ... moreAccording to you 98% people are blind and the 2% sales figures of Xperia phones are from people with eyes lol
Shadow Snypa786, 13 May 2017Sony being careful? That would make sense if in previous years they had bigger batteries etc.... moreI guess you never noticed how they tried to drop the capacity lower and lower at each iteration.
Z2 = 3200
Z3 = 3100
Z3+ / Z4 = 2910
Z5 = 2900
X Performance = 2700
XZ = 2900
Z5 Premium got rubbish battery life because the screen isn't as efficient as of the XZ Premium, and the SD810 is a power hog. Nothing defeated Samsung in 2015 in endurance rating because of Qualcomm's uninspiring processor.
So it's a fact and not an excuse, but besides, I never claimed it to be a fact anyways
Bunyip22, 13 May 2017Ummm. Lowlight is totally different to dark. Gsmarena studio low light (which the XZP fails ba... moreStudio light with 28 lux, you mean the ISO ,12K?
I can't see the XZ Premium doing bad there. For sure it has darker shadows, but that's just about it. Detail is still great, and colors look nice. Noise is kept at minimal, and the overall picture looks good.
I'm using flash when I take photos in the dark, because in that way, the ISO drops down to 50, which is very good for a very dark situation.
jesseMac, 13 May 2017laugh until the sales drop this Q2 bohohohofirst.. the price will drop significantly, like usual.
and then.. most people will ignore it and wont buy it.
finally.. bad sales in 2017.
The Only, 13 May 2017xPeria xz premium has smaller battery than z5p but has better battery life than z5p.But Xperia Xzp has a bigger battery than S8, still lower rating?
Shadow Snypa786, 13 May 2017So you telling me sony knew it was a 4k display and they still put in a measly battery??? :D ... morethey can put big battery in it if they want. it already have large dimension compared to the screen and big empty bezels to place the battery
Anonymous, 13 May 2017Good joke. I actually laughed at itlaugh until the sales drop this Q2 bohohoho
