The XZ Premium should be superior in good light but the comparison is flawed by using a 100% crop. I am not defending the XZ, I am just saying that test is not proper. People rarely views photos at 100% crop.

If not JOLED, Supra AMOLED would sound cool, as it sounds like a competitive counterpart of Samsung's Super AMOLED displays.

On the cropped images Sony is demolished, on the full pictures strangely I looks quite nice thou. Ironically on the night church shot, where I voted C (Samsung) without hesitation, I like Sony full picture more, better reflect night atmosphere imo, Samsung is too whitened.

Wow, so many people are so butthurt here that they enjoy bashing Sony for having the crappiest quality while some of the loyal ones cry because they don't like to see that brand falling behind others.
I'm not a sony fan and I don't have any of these 3 phones here but for god's sake, I keep on wondering why it sounds as the most bashed brand in this site. Yeah, most of their fanboys think they're the best, which is stupid, yet bashers make themselves look more stupid because they enjoy feeding on them. I feel miserable for those fans and the bashers too.
God, I hate brand wars. There is a saying that when you throw stones in the sky, if you get hit by any of these, then don't get mad.

The question I would like answered is why the shoot out pics are so much worst than the review pics? I'm not like the vast majority that lets tech sites judge or guide me down a path to buy a smartphone but the pics from the shoot out and the pics from the review are like day and night. Good thing I'm not a camera guy and I like the overall package and in that department only three android phones gives me the smoothness I require HTC , Motorola and Sony yet these guys not selling like others, just shows the power of marketing and the effects it have on people's minds.

We already ... moreI do know that LG and Samsung uses Sony sensors - almost everyone does anyways.
My main point is that Sony will surely create a camera that will truly differentiate itself from the competition. The 960fps Slow Motion easily separated them from the crowd, and eventually their newer hardware will also be differentiative.
Sony is slowly fixing the issues they have with cameras. Back then, without zooming, Sony images aren't comparable enough to the likes of the whole competition, and it requires the proper use of Manual Mode just to produce something competitive.
Now, without zooming or pixel peeping, you wouldn't know between Sony and other OEM's image is better - that's how much Sony has improved. It loses in details, but nothing else anymore - colors are close or even better, exposure is roughly the same, and dynamic range is now very close.
I still have faith to Sony to deliver what they need to bring. It's just a shame of how long it took them before making a camera that's competitive, but if this is an indication of Sony waking up and learning from the mistakes, then I won't stop them from making better and better phones.

I don't think it will not h... moreEither it will be the same 19mp, but the fact that they got the willingness to reduce the megapixel count by 4 megapixels, I do think they will eventually do it down to 12mp as well.
OIS is a possibility. XA Ultra and XA1 Ultra have OIS front camera. They are mid rangers, so why not give it to the higher end flagships as well?
There will be something new, but other than camera, I'm expecting more with the display, and that's maybe a switch from IPS LCD to AMOLED, but not from Samsing or LG.

We already know Sony can make good sensors, they just don't work nicely in their phones (ie. bad software auto-processing).
As far as Xperias go, I couldn't care less what specs they announce for the next sensor -- that's not the problem that needs to be addressed!

I don't think it will not have OIS because Sony is not interested on it. Maybe they will present new design, some new things on camera and new Sony assistant(example Battery Care). There will be something new.

Let's just see if it's gonna be the same when Sony made a 12mp 1/2" sensor, f1.8 lens, OIS, and 1.8um pixel.
Not joking here, it is indeed gonna happen soon. I have no source or proof, but mark my words when IFA 2017 arrives.

Ranjith Nath, 20 May 2017 Sony phone has good rating in DXOMARK . But here its not good . How is it possible .DxOMark is very specific at giving scores, whereas GSMArena is more of a point-and-shoot test.
