i think this shoot out looks fair. but we need to consider 2 main competitors here the Pixel XL and iPhone 7 plus. I saw a video on you tube by MKBHD and he had these 3 phones and also OP3T i guess in a blind shootout and the winner was Pixel followed by iPhone 7 plus. Pixel and iP7 were very close in most scenes and S8 was clearly a 3rd choice.
Dont want to hurt anyone here with these phones nor I am promoting any phone/OS just stating what I saw on you tube and if needed you can checkout the same. Hope this helps someone.

In this test, we are considering which smartphone is best for autoplay, which is not the best camera.
Do a serious test, sensibility iso=, same scene framed, resize 19mpx to 12, publish photos with exif data.
I realize that samsung and lg make a bad figure.

But 19 MP and 12 MP is a huge difference. Imagine viewing at 100% a 19 MP picture compared to a 12 MP picture. Which one gives a wider view? Of course it's the 12 MP!

I agrred to those who said they can't wait for another blind test with the HTC U included.... This blind test actually GSMarena showed the s8 pictures are better than the sony and lg... Who needs dxo mark complicated analysis

Look folks, Sony XZ 19MP with 25mm lens...Samsung S8 12MP with 26mm lens...LG 13MP but not written how wide is its lens. My first argument is, if they where shoot on a certain subject like on a busy street from the same point, if Sony was able to capture 15 cars in its frame, with 25 mm wide angle lens, Samsung should be capturing less then 15 cars due to its lower pixel count and huhhhh of course it has 26mm less wider than of the Sony. Phone C on the blind shoot out crammed a lot of image so it means it has a wider lens and sony has the wider lens (LG not being mentioned and forget about pixel count). Forget about your image quality look for the quantity and speak according to your knowledge about cameras.

Ranjith Nath, 20 May 2017 Sony phone has good rating in DXOMARK . But here its not good . How is it possible .More like the other way around, historically regular Xperia owners (Z, Z1, Z2, ...) always complained about camera quality in anything but perfect conditions, yet DxO (at that time) always gave those cameras top-marks -- while every other site acknowledged those issues some way or another.
Many years later DxO keeps pulling the same stunt, and Xperia drones still fall for that one review that raves about the camera as proof their camera is really the best. Choose your sources wisely, is all I have to say.

There are some tricks in this blind vote:
1. 100% crop is unfair for XZp;
2. All tests should use same ISO and speed;
3. Noboby uses phone camera as a magnifier. Instead people use it for posting food or selfie so color is more important the texture.

So rest assured about their numbering. None of us were actually there when photos were taken. I'm just saying if XZs was that great against S8, I have a hard time believing the actual Sony flagship isn't.
