You even bring your so could personal experience with those devices and YouTube video as an excuse? Well GSMArena is more smarter than you to make such test and the majority of people who have been voted clearly notice it. Sony never made such good camera phone ever since. Even xiaomi phones or other Chinese crap out there is better than Sony on camera despite manufacturing it.

This is identical to the test, it is taken in auto mode, as most buyers will take most photos in auto mode. If you want to capture the moment you sometimes don't have the luxury or patience to fiddle with manual mode. Sony seems incapable of creating a good auto mode.

I dont know why, but in full sized photo, phone B is better because of its natural picture. In one or two photos i voted with phone B because i liked the colors i saw there. But its a shame for sony because they cant be the best...

But, the pattern of the blind was incorrectly interpreted by S8's camera and that is my problem. Information captured should not be faulty. Color variation is fine and is personal preference,but object capture is something that cannot be compromised upon. It is the very definition of a good camera. Since S8 won in every other scene, I am fine with excusing S8 for the blind scene.
Also, a reference realistic image will help people judge just how much over saturated / undersaturated the colors are, the detail preservation, noise, artifacts introduced etc. People who still want a saturated image will go for that, reference image or not. It will not affect anybody's buying decision but still be a good comparison point for camera buffs such as I.

Cameras are cameras, smartphones are smartphones. They do different things, because you can't produce a Geographic Channel-like film with a smartphone, but neither can you do VR with an A9000

Now waiting for HTC U 11 vs S8 comparison. As the remaining two, Xperia and G6 have been knocked out. Or, better to say Xperia got knocked out. Because as gsmarena said, difference between G6 and S8 image quality isn't as big as different in number of votes. But still.
Shame on Sony. I thought reduction in pixels count may have improved the low light performance, but as a keen observer of z series I'd say the 23MP sensor on Z5 and XZ performed better.

Nobody stopped you from choosing your winner, so you must give them as well the freedom to pick their personal winner.

Which one is close to re... moreThe difference between dxomark and gsmarena is that the blind shootout from gsm is more general, no specific tests are being done; while dxomark test each components of the camera such as details exposure, colors rendering, noise, video, and etc..., and then they give an overall score for it.

I never saw a smartphone beat a DSLR or any type of big sensor camera, not even the best of the best flagship camera phone.
If I would pick the one that's closest to high end cameras, it would be the Nokia 808, but it's not a true smartphone, just got a touch screen. Lumia 1020 is remarkable, but MS Windows Mobile sadly stopped the support for it.
Smartphones have come a long way in photography, but a lot has still to be desired. Even the winner of this blind test would easily break apart in comparison to say a Sony A9000 or Canon 70D.

Think positive dude. Not saying thinking bad things must not be done, but doesn't mean there's nothing good in this life.

I do think that what they did here is credible. However, the results that gsmarena provided is only a pinch of salt or don't go into the specific. Hence, there are others such as dxomark that specializes in this field; even dxomark admited that Sony didn't do good with the noise reduction and artifacts. This seems to be Sony weakness when it comes to the camera or their phones.

When the XZP low light performance is bad, then it's bad. There's no need to fake it.
