1080p LCD in most of everything (only videos have 4k).
Smallest battery of the bunch
Smallest screen size despite being far bigger
Far worse camera, like it's almost a joke how bad it is.
Say again? Who's the best hardware?
Even in an off year for the Koreans , Sony can't beat them in the hardware race. It's like their bane (among many others), Sony was always a step back in hardware.

kris, 20 May 2017Because even though it has higher MP the Sony camera has a wider lens so the objects appear smaller.You are right, but they are not, the objects are the same size, because the zoom in the Xperia XZP is higher

By next year all smartphones maker will produce infinity screen it will even make it to the midrangers... And I am damn sure Sony will still stick to their current design because of their fanboys... As nobody in tgeir right mind will buy a Sony phone except all the sony fanboys....

If it was, a cheap smartphone with 16mp camera can easily beat the iPhone 7's 12mp camera in detail. Btw, many had pointed out that the EXIF file clearly shows that phone A is the LG G6, phone B is the XZ Premium, and phone C is the Galaxy S8. (I didn't check it myself so you're free to check it on your own)
