Sony has always been this way. On paper, it looks promising but on actual performance, a big loser when it comes for the price. As for the LG G6, it did fairly well as it is stated on its specs. On SG S8(+), as expected, it did the best. Ever since, samsung s series has been a top dog when it comes to the camera department. Nevertheless, at least the hype about the XZ premium's camera died by a little, no? Haha

Sony always shitty like this... what the hell man! Sony is the worlds largest mobile image sensor manufacture, so why cant they create a best camera for their phone. I think they are only giving new sensor.. they should use atleast f1.8 and 12MP with 1.55um for their latest sensor. I think thsts the problem. Also their image processing is piece of shit. Still doesnt have raw capture, hope you do better in 2018 sony

I have the S7 Edge, but in this shootout at least, the G6 came out as a better camera overall, despite the overwhelming popular vote. The Galaxy just over-processed and compressed dynamics too much, loosing detail.
I guess most people like bright and garish, just like they choose the most eye-bleeding TV set up in big box stores.

These results are no big deal. All three cameras capture great looking images. Only zooming in differentiates them, but in real life use this is totally irrelevant.

The end conclusion? Sony Xperia camera sucks..the Apple of Android land, except vastly overrated....comparing the pics I can honestly say that my Axon 7 pics come out better than the Xperia phone

What are you talking about? Actually, S8 has nice shots on some of the photos but photos are also washed out, G6 is better.

The pictures were viewed at 100% (in other words, each pixel in the photo lines up with each pixel of the screen), then, a crop was taken from each picture - all of the crops end up with the same amount of pixels in them and all are equal in resolution. It has absolutely nothing to do with zoom whatsoever. You need to look past the objects in the images and study the noise pattern and make sense of the processing that is applied to the images based on the camera settings and the amount of available light.

it would be non sense if you still defend the brand knowing its far behind to the other brand. yeah if you cant accept GSMarena's shoot out results then get out here.
