GSMARENA your phone reviews are great & it covers all the things. but one thing is missing and it's the AUDIO QUALITY through Headphones (because audio benchmarks means nothing actually). hire an audiophile and let him judge the audio quality through headphones. See whathifi.com they are like dxomark but for audio quality (but sadly not all the phones get reviewed).

The Galaxy S8 is tie with Xperia XYZ Premium bla bla bla just because the XZP is the sharpest screen?
The Xperia XZP is the worst contrast ratio of the three (watch HDR content with 1223:1 contrast ratio? LOL)
The Galaxy S8 and LG G6 have better color calibration than Xperia XZP. And about sunlight contrast ratio, Xperia is the worst too ( i bet when you use Xperia directly under sunlight you can't see your screen properly just like Xperia Z5P)
Nothing can beat Samsung in display departement (ATM)!
And the funny thing is the Galaxy S8 and LG G6 are smaller than the Xperia XZ Premium but the XZP has smaller screen size of the three.

I knew before I even read the conclusion what it will say. Same as every time, all 3 phones are great, pick one that suits you best. Kinda negates the point of doing these comparisons if you're gonna pull that card every time...

Seriously, I don't understand that much about photo quality, as long it's there it's fine for me, for a phone! Why does the superiority of a phone being measure by the quality of photo taken ? we have dslr mirror less and so on to take way better picture than using a phone. It's not like any professional photographer using a phone to take picture. And lastly, I pick a stereo speaker over a mono speaker any days. U know what I mean if you watch YouTube using your phone. To Sammy fans out there, samsung doesn't win everything. You don't see that much people using s8, except those YouTube reviewer that keep showing their s8. In the end they still using an iPhone, because, all their work are being sync to their iMac, only pc enthusiasts use Windows, most mobile reviewer on yotube use a mac, that's for sure. I'm not a Apple fanboy, but that's the fact.

If you really like to put your ear against phone, better use your headphones. It's loudness is below average and that's just unacceptable.

Rarely do i comment on GSMARENA pages about the news articles and the reviews.. Having said that i am following this page continuously for now 7 years.... Long back from the time when we used to have the galaxy s and xperia arc and the optimuses.. But i must admit that it is the best shootout till date on the GSMARENA page. This was really a good read having covered all the technical specifications in detail and providing in depth knowledge about the tech being used in these high end gadgets ...... just awesome. I just hope to see a lot more of these shootouts ... especially i would like to have a shootout between the s8, iphone7 plus, xz premium and the htc u11..... if you guys can provide this shootout...... will be waiting patiently for this one. Nice job guys well done. Keep it up.

Those tripod low light pics of xzp are awesome if it had ois I am sure it would destroy s8 in handheld anyways nice review

As much as i wished to see Sony on top of this comparison, i must admin Samsung gets the first place in allmost every category with either LG or Sony beeing close, but not equal.
I'm a bit dissapointed on Sony, which i didn't expect to have the best camera, wasn't that far behind either, but at least i hoped to have the best display and sound with that stereo speakers. Seems not.
I'm surpised on LG which i thought it will be a match for Samsung, specially on the camera side, but overall seemed to me it was surpassed even by Sony, except maybe on low light.
Nevertheless Samsung is still not attractive to me and will never be. Can't stand the thought that everyone has a Samsung. Nothing special, nothing unique to standout. It's just a brand to popular, and i don't want to be one amongst many to have one.
For now i'll stick to my P9

Why do the phone images of the XZ all seem a matt, non-shiny, dull charcoal colour? What happened to the piano-black finish...? Are you using a polarising filter for the device shots?

What can we learn from the low-light tripod photos? If Sony Xperia XZ Premium's cameras would have a brighter f1.7 aperture and OIS it would destroy S8's and G6's, but sadly neither the front or the back have and...falls behind S8.
