Nobrandfan, 22 May 2017I like all three phones (and the HTC U11 and Xiaomi Mi Mix), but each option has some issues. ... moreIf you're talking about flashing firmware to activate the fingerprint reader, you don't need to unlock anything. Different region firmware installs right on top with no rooting or unlocking needed.
If you're simply talking about bringing or shipping one from Europe, I -believe- they're covered globally regardless, but I'm not sure.
People keep saying that the weird aspect ratios of the G6 and S8 mean that the actual usable area is less than we'd get from a 16:9; but what actually --are-- those usable areas (edge drop-off and the like considered too, hard to calculate that without the phone in-hand..) compared to the XZP?
Anonymous , 22 May 2017Youtube is more credible, because you can see what they are doing.Yeah, just like you can 'see' what a magician is doing. It's all bs. Rather trust gsma than fly by night youtubers.
The drop test will make slimmer bezel shame, that's why no drop test for 2017, hahaha...
BigDaddy99, 22 May 2017Don't trust youtube...boy!Youtube is more credible, because you can see what they are doing.
I like all three phones (and the HTC U11 and Xiaomi Mi Mix), but each option has some issues. Here are my concerns about the phones:
1. Samsung phones historically have had two issues that only arise over time, software slow down and battery degradation. Have these issues been resolved with the s8 line?
2. Just how fast will the 821 chipset become antiquated?
3. How well will an unlocked international Sony work on AT&T in the US? I had a z5 premium that worked, but never as well as my Galaxy Note 2.
Symbian Rocks, 22 May 2017The features you said may be obsolete now. But I use these features various times a day. After... moreRemovable battery will never be obsolete. This is a physical limit. You cannot charge a phone instantly because physical laws don't allow for it. You'd always have to wait at least an hour.
That alone means that removable batteries will make a return. Good ideas always return, but their future iteration would be less annoying. Motorola already does it matter unkoingly with its covers. Most people complain because they don't get how revolutionary idea is, most people don't get revolutionary ideas period, they merely use them.
So the future of batteries is this: removable battery + a time one that will keep the light on when the replacing takes place. Good ideas never become obsolete, they return. LG G5 is a phone beyond its time. Timeless camera, great performance, removable battery. That's 3/4ths of the perfect phone (it only lacks ergonomy).
Sure it's ugly, but "ugly" is fixable.
Anonymous, 22 May 2017Still LG G5 is the best cameraphone and best smartphone overall. Best cameraphone, because ... moreThe features you said may be obsolete now. But I use these features various times a day. After Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and LG G5 I forced to switching on some sub stranded Chinese brands. I still believe no body will complain if these old features available in a latest flagship.
Roll, 21 May 2017 Guy when it comes to reality... Sony is better than the two . I'm currently using the S8 a... morebuying both s8 and XZs.. what are you? do you have a mind at all?? either it is the truth or, you are lying. I believe the later

I like sharing ... moreI know you've no idea about me but don't say crap if you don't know, I love smartphones and cars more than you love eating fatso man. I'm having an S8 since the launch day, I have S7 edge too and I know how much the camera is improved, image processing is the AI part of camera and Samsung has worked amazingly on it. I have iPhone 7 too (one of the early jet black adopters on launch date before it went out of stock) which I hate so much in front of my S8. I can advise anyone that S8 is the best smartphone and its smarter than anything else out there.
lacp, 22 May 2017You must be dreaming, XZs faster than Galaxy S8? That must be for laugh!... You are a blind So... moreSony have their own chipset on the lattest Android TV btw, It does not rule out the possibility that they might as well make their own chipset for their cell phones, and later, they will finish the artificial screen CLEDIS .. It will be very compete Samsung and Apple right away! Competition should make them (all company) for a better company of course!
ithehappy, 21 May 2017In significantly lesser extent how you praise a below average company.
Read the title, dude.
Still LG G5 is the best cameraphone and best smartphone overall.
Best cameraphone, because last year the GSMArena's camera shootout and blind test proves that G5 has better camera than S7 (but not by much). And S8 has the same camera as S7 (but with better processing). And don't forget that G6 has worse camera than G5. G6 has lower resolution and smaller sensor comared to G5 (in the G6's case the reduction in resolution doesn't bring any benefit, because it has the same pixel size).
Best smartphone overall, because G5 (and V20 which isn't available in Europe) is the only one smartphone in the world that has removable battery with at least Snapdragon 820 SoC. And it's the last smartphone in the world that has all these features: removable battery, IR blaster, FM Radio, 3.5mm jack, non-glass body, flat screen, Micro SD card slot. (Unfortunately the future phones don't/won't have these features.) LG ruined everything with the G6.
